Vector Did Not Break The Record Of The Longest Freestyle By An African Artist by ojoawo(m): 3:08pm On Aug 23, 2015
Music lovers were over the week treated to a stunning performance by the King Kong himself on Rhythm FM Freestyle Fury where he free styled for two hours thirty minutes non stop on random captions thrown at him.

It was an amazing show from the Viper, and the Internet-osphere is buzzing of accolades for the King Kong which were rightly due.

However, unlike how it has been postulated in some quarters….

… VECTOR DID NOT BREAK ANY RECORD AND DIDN’T CREATE ANY…

Yes, you read that well… Vector does not currently hold the record for the longest freestyle in Africa even with that performance.

The award for the longest freestyle by an African artist belongs to Chiddy of the American group ChiddyBang.
Real name, Chidera Anamege is a Nigerian American rapper who also held the Guinness World Record for the longest Rap Freestyle after free styling for over Nine hours.

And yes he is a Nigerian, he was signed as an artist in Eldee’s Trybe Records under another stage name “Proto” releasing songs like “My Guys Dem”, “Shayo De Go”, even featuring on Eldee’s “One in a Million”.

Read the statement issued by Eldee when he signed him…
“I have just recently signed a new artist to the Trybe Records camp and we are really excited about this new phenomenon by the name of “Proto”. He’s a 17 year old Nigerian MC from North New Jersey and has been on the grind for quite a while talking to a bunch of major labels out here in the states. He currently owns a production outfit by the name “Chidi Bang Entertainment” and has over 100 songs recorded”

and then he goes ahead and throws out a warning,

“We’re also about to hit up Nigeria and the rest of Africa with that next level music, like we always do. We hereby challenge any artists out there that imagine they can compete with “Proto” to step up and get eaten!

He is officially known as an American rapper not Nigerian. He holds the world record not African record. Read this:

Chidera Anamege, now known by his stage name Chiddy Bang is an American hip hop recording artist. Prior to their break up, Chiddy Bang was an American pop-rap duo consisting of Anamege under the stage name Chiddy, and Noah Beresin, under the stage name Xaphoon Jones. The duo was introduced through former band member Zachary Sewall in late 2008 while they were studying at Drexel University,[3] in Noah's hometown of Philadelphia, PA.

I am not disputing that bro, just like Akon is a Senegalese American, wale is a Nigerian american. But the question is how does the award bodies like MTV see them? Wale will never be nominated by mtv Africa to contest with sarkodie, MI, iceprince etc. In the music world proto like rotimi will prefer to be seen as an American first from 2011 when he broke that world record. On his Wikipedia page, they did nt mention Nigerian-American.

Dude used to operate in the Nigerian market just like laylow who now claims American too by the name Kevin BoJ... Doesn't change the fact that he's Nigerian.

If any African gonna take the record, he's more than qualified

My brother I don't know how to convince ojoawo again. Proto pre-2011 (before he broke record) tried something in naija with tribes records but never worked out, even as it stands now he is seen as an American. Take akon as an example, he is first seen as an American in music circuit, if not, akon would have been winning mtv African awards every year that time he was hot. We have many African-American artistes doing great stuffs but they are 'americans'. They would nt be nominated against psquare, davido, wizkid etc in MAMA 'best male' awards. It's as simple as that.
