I hope you know what contraction of GDP means?
Contraction in GDP is a recession
Contraction in GDP growth, means a slower increase.

We have no finance minister
no minister of petroleum
and a CBN governor who was insulted in the US for traveling with a business man (Jim Ovia)
Everyone is being accused of stealing X,Y,Z.
The government it's self is infighting (tinubu, saraki, buhari)
Governors are using loans as bailouts for debt they already racked up
The President things West Germany is still a country
Policies are being reversed
Boko Haram is emboldened
SS and SE are coordinating partition
President is telling the SS and SE they won't be treated equally to the 95%
SW is realizing Buhari is sectional
Appointments are section

I agree with you. But it seems some people believe that it's that we should keep blaming GEJ and continue criticizing GEJ, while looking elsewhere once Buhari is mentioned.
Have you noticed anytime Buhari is criticized, you must find someone antagonizing GEJ and hipping all blames on GEJ, while all glory and praise goes to Buhari even for projects or something introduced during Jonathan's government. Then the next is tagging any critique of Buhari as a 'wailing wailer'.
we Nigerians are the ones misunderstanding ourselves, do you observe that when the news broke out that the refineries were working, people said GEJ was responsible but when another report came out that the warri refinery broke down, people said buhari was responsible.

The truth is like someone said its too early to criticise PMB and too late to blame GEJ, we have to move on, Like i said earlier this is because this is first time a ruling party is handing over to the opposition in aso rock, so there is lot of bad blood among politicians, so may poeple has lost out and gained also. Reason for all the accusations and counter accusations.

The earlier we all moved on, the better for Nigeria.

are you aware that we are still in transition? this is the first time we having a ruling party handing over to the opposition party at the Federal Govt. level, which is different from the past where we've just been having change of personalities but the same party. That is what some of you guys fail to understand of which I don't blame anyone cos its the first time. You guys are just too much in a hurry to condemn PMB.

Normally you don't expect any business man to just start investing his money without first understanding the nature of a new party in power, trust me even you yourself will be too careful for that. You can see the various changes in appointments which won't have happened if the pdp was still in power and anybody thinking that PMB shouldn't have changed anybody does not understand party politics which affects economies all over the world and for those comparing us to America, we are still a third world country and all those obama excuse does not hold water at all.

This is the reason for the fall in investment which is only temporary as there are a lot of proposed foreign investment just waiting for the new Government to settle down because of the kind of transition that has just taken place.
have told you inform buhari that honeymoon is over, when gej was in office he was criticized from day one,

just like tinubu said, the media assistants will need to do alot of jobs to defend their boss, just like you are doing.

just like you were expecting gej to turn Nigeria around over night, Buhari will receive same, i hope opposition parties will sit up and give you media mules sleepless nights like what was done in the last 4years

Why are you confusing issues, why bring recession into this equation? Bottomline, things are falling apart in the country and your party leadership has no answer. Maybe body language will reverse the trend.

@the bolded with due respect, this is a lie, GEJ's problem started form Jan 2012, [he was sworn in May 29, 2011] when he removed fuel subsidy. He had good will from all Nigerians [after all he won election in 2011] until he removed fuel subsidy and everybody became mad not because of the corruption in subsidy but because of the rise in fuel price, pls mark my words, the rise in fuel price was the reason people criticized the subsidy removal including the NLC.

So to say he was criticized from day one, you are just economical with the truth, pls check and confirm. Get over with the loss of election, GEJ has moved on and is enjoying his holiday. You guys are just too unforgiving and bitter and its showing all over the media which the whole world has come to know and still supporting PMB. We are confident about PMB because he is not a weakling like GEJ.

that is the problem you guys have again, you believe anybody supporting PMB is being paid like you guys. Anyway there is no free money any longer and I know you guys are still pained, anyway for your information Nigeria now pays 900million naira per day on subsidy compared to the over two billion naira you GEJ was dashing to subsidy scammers, sanity is gradually returning to the system and I know you guys are not happy but you know what we don't care as far as we now enjoyed improved electricity which is reducing the demand for fuel for generators, keep wailing bro, i sympathize with you

As far I'm concerned, power changed in Nigeria on March 28th 2015. Your silly spin should be kept for amateurs. Market reactions and investors sentiments turned to Buhari and his legion of supporters on that day. And yes, you are part of the Sai chanters, why are refusing to identify with your party?

Much as it pains me, let me respond to this. Never in the history of this country did we earn as much from oil as we did under Jonathan when oil prices at some point hovered above the $150 mark. The windfall was gargantuan!

If your Lord Commander and mentor wasn't the fool he was he would have built structures that would have served as buffers for rainy days given we all know how volatile the international oil market is, but no, he preferred spending all our earnings budgeting billions for feeding alone and hundreds of millions to tend to flowers and Aso Rock pets.

And if you weren't the barrel head you are who understands absolutely nothing but to throw muds at everything with an imprint of Buhari, you would have understood such a simple economic concept.

Now trudge along. I've got too much work to do and I believe you've got lectures to attend to.
I guess say na for ur village whey dem sell crude oil over 150 dollars per barrel.

Last week the NBS released its latest Job Creation and Employment Generation Survey. This defines the formal sector as consisting of establishments with ten or more employees, and is based on a sample of 5,000 firms across the 36 states of the federation.

The data show that 141,400 jobs were created in Q2 2015, divided between 51,100 jobs in the formal sector, and 83,900 and 6,400 jobs in the informal and public sectors respectively. When compared to the previous quarter, total job creation declined sharply by 70% from 469,100.

The bureau’s report focuses on 18 sectors, of which education emerges again as the leading source of new formal-sector jobs in Q2 2015 accounting for 34%. Manufacturing, agriculture, and accommodation and food services contributed 15.2%, 15.0% and 9.2% to the total respectively.

If you are against Buhari's government then you are no better than Boko Haram. . . I'm not insulting anyone but I'm saying so because you have to be behind your president, whoever he is, and support him so that he can have the encouragement to perform. He's human too. . . Instead, some Nigerians are waiting for him to make mistakes so they can say 'aha i told you so'!!! Ok, if you are right about Buhari, that he is useless, what gain do you have, or are you not going to suffer in the same Nigeriahuh Buhari is doing his best and I believe after 4 years, in fact, by next year, you will all see that he is capable. The last govt left NIgeria in a total mess, unlike the days when Awolowo built University of Ife completely from COcoa money. . . instead Nigeria is heavily reliant on oil. The current crisis is as a result of the fall in global oil prices, it is not Buhari's handwork. Let us all join hands to make Nigeria great instead of making it a PMB vs GEJ tournament

Good luck and his team drove the economy to surpass Sout Africa's. Nigerians chased them away in May. This is tjust he beginning of the downturn. Some Nigerians vsked for Change due to ethnic/religious bigotry. The change is coming to all unfortunately.

But for oil revenues, Nigrtdelta shout have been driven aground. Imagine how much extert investment Nigeria looses daily due to Religious external. Instead how much oil money goes into fighting the extremists.

Some Nigerians don't ask questions.
Re: Economic Growth Falls To 2.35% - National Bureau Of Statistics by ttmacoy: 3:14pm On Aug 26, 2015
Why do you keep tieing the poor growth to foreign investors. The reason for the poor growth is Nigeria has over depended on oil for governed revenue and the falling oil prices is having a knock on effect on the economy.

Foreign investors will invest where they can get a return. It's a win win situation not a charity. They provide jobs, taxes etc to the economy and in return they make a profit for their investment. If the economic environment is not conducive they will pull their money away.

Fine, am even okay with your insults sef, Mr lecturer so why are we where we are now, has mtn and shoprite closed shop? so why are we having a different statistics now in our economy, Please don't tell me because PMB is now in aso rock as people don't go to aso rock to shop or watch movies, that will be the joke of the year.

But seriously mtn and shoprite are still operating so what's wrong with our economy now, why the different numbers now?

@the bolded, so why are people blaming PMB now? someone said that there were lots of foreign investments during GEJ's time and that's why I asked if the foreign investors have all pulled away their investments. People just rush to blame PMB now forgetting that even NOI became bold enough to tell Nigerians the truth after March 28 that the economy in 2015 will not be a very good for Nigeria and someone wants to hang PMB for that.

This was the basis for my arguement.
