Also speaking, a retired Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav said: “I see the appointments as lopsided. Nigeria is too big to have majority of the appointees from one section of the country.  We have competent people in every part of Nigeria. For that reason, he (Buhari) should spread the appointments to every part of Nigeria.

“If he  (Buhari) is looking for honest people, there are honest people in every part of Nigeria, just as we have dishonest people in every part. Most Nigerians voted for him, even those who did not vote for him are his subjects and he is bound to carry every one along.”

Tsav has spoken well. He should note one point of correction, Buhari's subjects are the economy, corruption, insecurity, infrastructural development etc. Nigerians are not his subjects, we're his employers. Including those who didn't vote for him.

Any average student of Nigerian politics and history should not be surprised.

Illiteracy on the part of the voting population is Nigeria's biggest setback.

subjects has a broad meaning. U are just taking a narrow perspective of it all in respect of the underlying reasons for the post and the 'massage' it was meant to give to the psyche of those privileged to lead.

A lot of difference bro. It is very wrong and derogatory to refer to citizens under a democratic government as subjects.

Buhari is trying to say that competent and incorruptible people can only be found in the north.

If the north is so 'blessed' with all these men of integrity who are incorruptible, I wonder why that region is still lagging behind in many areas of development when compared to other regions despite all the federal allocations meant to develop the region?

On the topic, the pro-CHANGE camp will not in itself turn a blind eye to the recent trend in appointments. We are a diversified nation with over 250 tribes, and as such the constitution gave room for fair share through Federal chadacter.
