Please wat do I do, my toyota corolla sport 2004 doesn't start immediately anytime after fuelling iv been using it like that since over 8months ago....also I noticed the check engine light persistently on...it goes off only to come back wn I temporarily detach the car battery ....


Wats the likely problem and how do I solve it

Yes it may be fuel pump, but I really think it is the fuel filter that as become clogged also the check engine light goes off when you disconnect the battery leads because the computer loses electrical power therefore the memory is cleared with the power failure. It comes back after you start the car because the conditions that made the computer to switch the light on is still present and it needs to be checked, therefore go and scan your car computer before effecting ANY repairs.

Run a scan on your car. That would narrow down the problem. To run a scan and fix the problem call 08156087872 or 08165520837. Scan is free till 31st of August

When you say after fuelling,do you mean after you fill your tank or just anytime you refuel

After I fill my tank no matter how small...
All other times its starts at once

It is your purge valve

Looks like your vapor canister purge valve is bad. I have changed th he one on my Ford myself when I was having the same issue. This is the part you need you have to test it first to be sure the old one is bad.

Your fuel tank might also be dirty and as a result when you buy fuel the dirt gets stirred up and blocks the system. I would advise you get our fuel tank checked to ensure it's clean and also to use fuel treatment / injector cleaners regularly as the quality of fuel we have in the country now is of low quality.

It's valuable information you just gave me...I'm planning to change it but is their a local name these mechanics call the purge valve....im in kano I don't want to fall into hands of kazeems, I don't have mechanics cos my car doesn't give issues....then how much does it cost in Nigeria
