Peter Okoye and his wife Lola Omotayo-Okoye has lost their long time nanny, Her name is Esther Ngobor, She was instrumental in raising the couple’s son Andre and daughter Aliona.
Ngobor died this morning after battling cervical cancer.

Cervical cancer is the leading cause of gynaecolocal cancer deaths in sub-saharan Africa. It is highly preventable and treatable when detected early. Unfortunately, most of our women present very late and palliation is all one can offer at that time. Pap smear will go a long way in early detection. Unfortunately yet again, our women hardly do the pap smear. Every woman should start doing pap smear from 21 yrs of age and/or 3 yrs after the first sexual intercourse and repeat it periodically depending on the previous results.
PRIMARY PREVENTION STILL REMAINS THE KEY!
