The Police on Wednesday arraigned a 20- year-old
suspect, Mr Uche Uduah at an Asaba Magistrates’
Court for alleged theft of lady’s handbag. The
prosecuting officer, Mr Joseph Ukwebele told the
court that the accused committed the alleged crime
on 28 July, at Oluu St., Asaba, Delta.

Ukwebele alleged that the accused on the said date,
stole a bag containing one laptop valued at N35,000,
two Cell phones valued N12,000 and N75,000 cash, all property belonging to the complainant, Mrs Nora Dave.

He said that the offence contravened Section 390(9)
of the Criminal Code Law,Cap C21 Vol1 Laws of Delta State of Nigeria 2006. The Magistrate, Mrs Okonkwo Akanume, granted the accused bail in the sum of N70, 000 with one surety after he pleaded not guilty to the crime. She adjourned the case to Sept. 16 for hearing.
