A member of the House of Representatives, Rep. Istifanus Gyang (PDP- Riyom/Barkin-Ladi) on Sunday condemned the rising cases of cattle rustling in Plateau.

Gyang, in a statement in Jos, challenged security agencies, especially the Special Task Force (STF) maintaining peace in the state, to “act fast and check the trend.’’

The statement was in reaction to the attack on Dorowa-Babjue on Friday in which many cows belonging to herdsmen were stolen.

“Cattle rustling is carried out by a criminal gang; the security forces and all concerned must move fast to apprehend the gangsters,” he said,

Gyang said the incidence of cattle rustling was an indication that the notorious multi-ethnic syndicate on cattle theft was still alive and active in Plateau.

He, however, cautioned against “flat assumptions” as to which group could be responsible, noting that experience had confirmed that membership of the gang cuts across all tribal and religious affiliation.

“We all must unite to tackle the thieves.

“ We should not be distracted by wrong impressions and insinuations that could open escape routes for these criminals,’’ he said.

Gyang also advised the STF to work with traditional rulers, youth groups and cattle rearers toward checking the menace.

NAN reports that cattle theft had often been blamed for the violence in most parts of Plateau North Senatorial District.

Areas worst affected include Riyom, Barkin-ladi and Jos South Local Governments. (NAN)

Thanks for inviting me.

Did he say anything about the Killing going on in his constituency? No.
Will will say he is not aware of it?
They are afraid to talk about the killing because their lives are in Danger. He is only trying to defend protect the Christians because it might raise an uproar against the Christians. That is why he emphasised that the gang cut across Tribes and Religion.

Again, the region has mixed religion. Some homes have Christians and Muslims in them. Husbands and wives having different religion and brothers and sisters having different religion.

So there are no brave men amongst them to speak for them rather they have chosen to watch while fulani terrorist rape their women and slaughter their men like cows?
If that is the case, that means they have been subdued by force while slaves like Gowon and demented danjuma boasts how they defeated Biafra.Ndi ara.
