I am a little above 30yrs old and Single. I gain admission to study Elect\elect in one of the polytechnic in Southwest in 2004 but could not finish the course cos I had issues with a subject in my O\L result (chemistry). I did another WAEC(GCE) in 2005 but did not pass the course I needed which is Chemistry. I gave up and went for apprenticeship. With a very fast technical knowledge, in less than 2yrs I had become a pro in Electrical wiring, CCTV installation, Alternative Power Solution, Satellite installation and Networking and Electronics gadget installation and repair. Infact my boss was very reluctant to let me leave cos I had become a huge instrument to him. I had to force my way. To God be the Glory, I have been doing very well ever since then. You can hardly notice my level of education with my verbal and wrriten communication skills. I still wish to have a degree @least and sometimes feel very bad because I have no educational degree to my name. I want nairalander to advice me on degree I can acquire which is very relevant to my feild. Pls no insults... |

sweetheart, education is a mentality not just a paper certificate. U ve got d mentality, u can enroll for a part time degree at ur convenience but don't push ur work aside. so many "certificateless" persons now have long queue of certificate bearing persons begging to be employed. stay focused, expand ur empire, u will make it. |

op, you don't have any excuse not to have a degree if you so wish. Ofcos, many of those who had it are not better either. I want to salute your courage for this spirit. Rewrite ur gce to have the Chemistry, apply for schools like NOUN.. They are established to suit your purpose, check programmes you can study at ease with your job and i assure you, in the next four years, you would be happy to take this decision. By the time you are done with schooling, you would realise your scope has been widened and you can develop creative ideas backed with your certificates to show you are an authority.....Do not be sad about it, rather be challenged and take this risk. God bless!!! http://nou.edu.ng/# |
