Is Organized Religion Dying ? by CANTICLES(op):
IS ORGANIZED RELIGION DYING ?

Gaffar , who was born in Turkey , was disturbed by the idea of a vengeful God , as taught by his religion , His wife , Hedye began to question her religion when she was just 9 years old " I was taught to believe in fate" she said " as an orphan I wondered , what have I done to deserve this ? I often cried all night , by age 15 , in my heart I had abandoned religion"

Take a look at what is happening to organized religion in some countries and which might also happen in Nigeria (Religion and money) http://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/g201511/organized-religion-dying/

This is mainly as a result of our poor education system, bad infrastructure, bad leaders, poverty etc.

Our education system doesn't teach us to think for ourselves and is NEVER upgraded. Kids still learn from the same textbooks we learnt from, but with different packaging, the contents are still the same.

Our consistent pitiful plight has put us in a position where we have chosen to expect a "miracle" from an imaginary deity instead of seeking for solutions by ourselves and even though this god does nothing even while the situation degenerates, my people still have blind "faith" and cling onto childhood fairytales.

It is indeed a pitiful situation

FRANCE

Only 37 percent of the people polled claimed to be religious. The rest were either atheists or simply not religious. In some parts of this once Catholic stronghold, Catholicism is in a state of “near-collapse,” said the magazine The Economist
One of watchtower lies!! the truth is 44 percent of france claimed to be christains, of which 41 percent are catholics.

IRELAND

The Irish seem to be losing their faith en masse. Nearly 45 percent of respondents said they are not religious, and another 10 percent claimed to be atheists. Percentagewise, Ireland was among the top ten atheist populations. News reports are talking about “the end of Catholic Ireland.”
grin grin grin @bolded which news report? Awake news reporthuh, 84.2% of ireland is catholic only 7.6% claimed atheism as @ 2011

TUNISIA

In 2013, about 60 percent of Tunisians polled said that they no longer attend mosques but instead pray at home. The reason given was the violent ideology promoted there
Misinformation and misrepresentations, Radicals took over around 1,000 of Tunisia's 5,000 mosques, which are normally run by the Religious Affairs Ministry, and turned them from quiet places of prayer to platforms to call for jihad and sharia (Islamic law). No poll ever stated muslims stopped going to mosques and prayed at home.

UNITED STATES

Since 2005, the number of people claiming to be religious fell by 13 percent.
It has been fairly stable lapses were not more than 5%

VIETNAM

Between 2005 and 2012, the number of respondents professing to be religious fell from 53 percent to just 30 percent.
