Hello house! Please how does one go about letter of reference when your school doesn't have industrial email? Like romoke@shell-ng.com? The school I want to apply to has requested for it. I can get one from my company ..the issue now is the academic reference letter.
Again who has written GMAT and gotten 600 and above? I need assistance. THANKS

Pls wat airline did u use?
Team12:
Sorry guys for posting this late, being busy trying to settle down and furnish my apartment.

My trip was long (30 hrs plus transit time) but not stressful; Lagos-Dubai-Chicago-Winnipeg.

Transiting thru the USA was very easy, they didn't even check my 32kg Ghana must go of food stuff sef grin They just asked what I had inside and I said food stuff...das all!

Then at the Port of Entry in Canada, I had a trailer load of docs to show them...but the officer was just gisting me how Nigerians in her neighbourhood dress beautifully to church...she nor even ask for POE Intro letter sef, nothing at all. She just dey gist with me as she dey print my Study permit and my daughter's Visitor record (same format as a study permit)

They asked me what type of food stuff I had and I just listed some (I had all sorts of food stuff u can think of ...and yes! I had Zobo leaves and Ofio...lol...my preparation na die!)and one of the officers started telling me how I can get beans and Dry fish in Winnipeg...

It was fun and easy gaining entry and they were very much willing to assist with questions I had.

My Winnipeg goons where una dey? @Supermum, @Sholay2011 et al..we should hook up some time.

To all TRV hopefuls, I declare divine speed and favour on your apps in Jesus name, Amen.

Btw, I applied for a visitor visa for my mum. She has a conference in Halifax and I just got her pp request yesterday..#grateful

Type application to work in canada in google and click the CIC link. It will bring you to the open work permit application page. If going paper route, just download the forms- IMM 1291(open work permit appl form), family info form and doc checklist and if applicable trv schedule 1 form.

Thanks a lot. Buh what I really wana know is whether the SOWP app doubles as a Visa app as well, or does my spouse have to apply for a visitor's visa to visit me as well as the SOWP simultaneously.

The account balance counts as well as evidence of sponsor's assets eg fixed deposits, bonds, rental property. If these are available and the account balance is a little low, it can still fly. But they have to be either assets that can be easily liquidated or steady sources of income.
Canadapikin:
My tuition is $14200 yearly. My concern is, is the closing balance very important as both accounts are running account. I mean accounts that are very active i.e money flows through it steadily so it's not like a bulk lodgement once in a while. Thanks

@thesoj rightly answered this question.

tnuola:

Rolandy 's case is different, he can actually work full time once he has his sin number, he's to resume in january, so he's not breaking any rules.

The other person, is to resume already and wants to defer/take a break to work and make money.

I know someone that got in before resumption date and worked fulltime before school resumed in sept, and offcourse it was legal.

No need to apply for a visiting visa. The SOWP doubles as visa appl too. She will get her visa stamped at the embassy and work permit given in Canada.

I have just two question PLEASE.
1. Is it best or safer to go for an Undergraduate program in Canada or better still just do an undergraudtae program in Nigeria, then go for your Masters or PHD in Canada, which is better? Please give reasons when supplying answer
2. If one shohld refire after refusal to Canada. is fhere any possibility of getting the visa.
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by thesoj: 5:57am On Sep 14, 2015
Young bro, do what you gotta do o. If you want to go to Canada just try to do it now. If I remember your case correctly, you are only 17 years old. Life is too short to not pursue what you want when you can. You can't predict the future. I think you should try Canada again in spite of your previous delay. We can help you on this thread.

People on this thread can help you look over your SOP and application details.

But if you choose to not go to Canada, life will still be fine for you as long as you are proactive and strategic about whatever steps you take. Not going to Canada now is not the end of the world. You have a whole life ahead of you, a life full of good surprises and achievements in spite of challenges you may face today. Cheers.

Hi, everyone. I am new here. I want to congratulate all successful and unsuccessful TRV applicants. God has a purpose for everyone. I applied online on August 11 on a Canadian Scholarship for a Masters Programme but apart from the one month auto message, I have not heard from CIC. My lectures have since started. Any hint on what to do next?

Yes it is possible to still defer. This is a question you should be asking your school, not us. Do this asap.

Find out from your school if it grants late resumption as some schools allow you to resume a week late or more depending on your program after the initial start date before you defer to the next session. If granted an extended resumption date please have this information handy @ the POE.
