gd pm do u know dat anchor mirrors college offers to pay a bsc holder in physics 18k imagine! d sch is in ur area

Thats the minimum wage in the country, they've not done anything wrong. Its an offer, which u can either accept or reject. Blame the government who set such a meagre and paltry sum as minimum wage.

I dont know about their salary, but from the size of the school, i know the salary wont be much. God will give you a better place. But if you can cope why not. Although i dont think a graduate should collect less than 25 k( at worst). Thats my own opinion, i rather stay at home and concentrate on home lesson.

The minimum wage thing, is it applicable (in a government job) to graduates i.e. HND and B.Sc. or those with lower certificates. Private schools shouldn't be hiding under the guise of "minimum wage" set by Nigeria government to pay "graduates". I think MINIMUM WAGE is not meant for graduates.

There is no such thing as a pay meant for "graduates" in the private sector. It is based purely on the organization's salary structure and your ability to negotiate. thats why u can see two workers on the same level but with totally different pay.

I am aware there is no particular pay meant for "graduates" in the private sector, what I am saying is that why should the private schools paying graduates between 18k to 20k always refer to the government minimum wage as if that is what is obtainable (by graduates) even at government jobs. They usually make is seem as if a government job too cannot earn a graduate more than the Minimum Wage. That was my point, and not saying there is a particular pay meant for graduates in any private sector.

Good morning. I think it's better you write and attach an application letter to each of the CV you'll be submitting. By the time you get close to each school, where the name and address of the school is visible, you can insert it on the letter as appropriate.

Regarding the type of envelope to package the documents, I think an envelope of the size of the A4 paper is okay, so that you won't need to fold the documents. However, I will suggest you go around with a bag (like laptop bag) since you might need to reach a number of schools, and I think it's not wise enough for each school you reach to observe that you are with almost 7 to 10 envelopes (or as the case may be) with. It may not really affect whether you'll be invited or not, but I just don't think it's okay. So, find a means of keeping other envelopes away at each location. Remember to insert the school name and address on each application letter before you submit.

If possible, try not to drop your documents at the gate with the gateman or security. Ask for the Admin Office, Secretary Office, The Principal's Office or as the case may be DEPENDING ON THE SIZE OF THE SCHOOL. If questioned at the gate of a big school for instance, you can just say you want to make enquiry about requirements for enrolling a child in the school. This should get you access and pass through a stubborn gateman in 'big schools'.

This is just the few things I can tell you based on my personal opinion. Let the bigger bosses here help you with tips based on experience.

I agree with you some gateman will not probably drop your application and forget it in their office you just need to bypass them so that your application can be treated accordingly

Aren't you good at any other subject? Try including another subject and yoruba into your cv. Nobody will want to employ someone who can do only thing. And also try taking your cv to schools. Dont wait till there is an advert. Especially for the subject yoruba. Goodluck

And what's so special about NCE that one cannot place it side by side with SSCE?

Or is it not the NCE that they use Essential Chemistry, Essential biology textbooks, etc to teach them? Most NCE students I've met are bunch of University-wannabes... The case of NCE holders is analogous to Govt sch teachers that are professionally qualified to teach, but academically, many of them are not in tuned with modernity...

But Bsc holders, just show them the format of that 'yeye' lesson note, they will teach your students beyond your imagination because the stuff is there.

If you're talking of graduates, abeg, never ever mention NCE holders o jere.
Haba! madam NCE at par with SSCE its a no no they are not the same no matter the circumstances.

Your own post is bereft of logic, hence, I'll just ignore your rantings. But I've got some simple questions for you though, if you would be sincere enough to answer them...

1- How many of your secondary school teachers are NCE holders?
2- How many big schools employ NCE holders as subject teachers? You could please mention names.
3- How many Govt Sch teachers self are NCE holders. I don't mean Pry school teachers o!

Your answers to the above questions would serve as a template upon which my argument with you will be based. Also, did you just talk about Sir Ahmadu Bello as being an NCE holder? So? What's the correlation?

And as for the name calling, I'm too big a lady to exchange words with a e-entity whose whole existence begins and ends online.... Try calling me names again, and I'll prove to you that you don't have the monopoly of name calling.

PS: I'm a Bsc(edu) graduate of O.A.U Ile-ife. So? Have you any other bragging rights? Tender it or you argue logically next time.
Easy madam NCE can never be compared to B.sc(ed) but not to the detriment of SSCE anyone with me on this?

Now you're talking! grin

Now that I have you on the rope, lemme quickly finish you off while I await the next NCE vain-braggart. I've friends who are also members of this forum that teach in big schools like Caleb, Greenspring, Corona, Newhall at lekki. They didn't even study anything relating to education.

PS: They may not want to confirm my claims so as not to give full vent to this controversial issue. But trust me, big schools employ Bsc graduates so long as he is sound academically.
You are right but they will be told to go for PGDE why? A lot of this big schools belong to associations like AISA, AISEN, COBIS e.t.c that mandates their members to ensure all their academic staff get a teaching qualification.

Sir they are many big schools that employed non-education graduattes and make them pass through their graduate training programmes.
Hello boss but importantly they are mandated to go for PGDE a requirement by the ministry of education, local and international associations. Of recent a lot of them go for graduates with educational qualifications.
