You should be thanking Obiano who has been the governor of Anambra for nearly two years now.
And the projects in Anambra state are still carrying on in a blinding pace with no sign of a slowdown
Did you say Obiano has been Gov for two years? Nna for where?

Abeg, as much as I'm indifferent to Peter Obi, one sure thing I liked about him was his financial prudence. Thank God, he did not plunge the state into debt.

Nnaa I agree with you. Kogi should be doing much better than this.

To its south is Anambra state, which is the land of industrialists.
Kogi can position itself as a frontier state that buffers core south from the north, and the authorities can make it extremely business-friendly based on this.

Also a lot of Igbos are now reluctant to invest in far-flung places, and this is a niche Kogi can easily fill. No other state has a better chance than Kogi, in meeting this need. The state government can sponsor investment and business symposia, to notify Igbo investors of the nearness of Kogi state to Anambra.

The majority ethnic group in Kogi is Igala, and their ancestor left Eri-aka (now known as Aguleri), to settle in Idah, and in traditional circles in the Nri towns, they recognize Igala people as relatives, along with the Aguleris, Igbariam, Amanuke e.t.c
Igalas still use the four market days introduced by the Nris, so Kogi has big historical, cultural stick to wield to attract investments and make the state super-viable.
Bro is it the same kogi people that have sworn to kill everyone in anambra because of one marginal oil field that you're giving all this epistle??

That's why they want ONE NIGERIA...They cannot survive I tell you without oil.
with lagos they might? But am surprised that ogun state is among. The yorubas do boast a lot of industries from ogun state and oyo state apart from lagos.

Anyway am very happy, infact more than happy that anambra ain't in that list.
A least not all easterner.

Now we know the states that are viable enof to survive without revenue from crude oil.
Makes me wonder why some pple are still clamouring for creation of more states when the ones we have can not sustain themselves without "handouts" from Abuja

I just passed Kogi today, went through the inner part of the state capital, saw their Government house. All you wrote is very true. Except for airport, kogi has everything needed to make a mega city, power, industry, access to water, good land mass, good soil for agriculture, with abundant solid minerals, large population, its already close to a mega city, Abuja. Yet kogi remains one of the poorest states with worst state capital. It's a pity!

cronsberg:
Throughout Nigeria's history, i have never seen a state so well positioned and so well placed to be extremely developed than Kogi state with everything a geographical location needs to be fully developed. From Ajaokuta steel, to the large West African ceramics industrial complex, to the confluence of river Niger and Benue, to the ever agile and active populace, to the thousands of square miles of untapped woodland, to the world class Obajana industrial complex, to the massive IPP power plants and many more, yet this very well placed state is disapointingly poor and underdeveloped. The road network of Kogi is a shame to say the least, the pipe borne water and sewage infrastructure is almost non existent, integrated public tranport is also non existent, the state capital Lokoja was recently shown on TVC, it looked like a common local government, a poor one at that, and now the state is trying to borrow 50 billion naira from the FG? of what importance will that be since the state will now spend huge chuncks of its FG allocations for the next 20 years repaying the loans? further depriving the the state of common developement. what a shame

Am so happy that Abia state receive a reasonable amount so that its civil servants will be cleared all the arrears owed them, but my fear is that TA is still the Gov in disguise .Am indebted to the tune of #150000 having sold copies of magazines without remitting the cash to the coffin due to non payment of salaries. Ikpeasu, pls do not listen to your boss for now, maybe later.

What is really happening to the south west states of ogun, Osun, oyo, apc states are really very very imprudent and unviable
add Imo state to that. Useless APC change chanting governors. Their change is to owe workers 7 months plus salaries. Evil people.

Fayose is stupid for continually attacking PMB when he could not even manage his affairs without borrowing.

Aregbesola is a big disappointment for collecting a huge and not paying his workers.

75 % are APC STATES

APC WHY?

Who's begging? It's only a loan. Even dangote dey take loan. I see nothing shameful there.
Borrowing as bailout and to pay salaries is begging and shameful, considering the size of Delta and Bayelsa's monthly allocation, their population strength, job creation, number of government workers and their output. Compare them to Lagos, Kaduna, Kano that are not begging for bailout. Or their neighbours Rivers, AkwaIbom, Cross River.

This is a new week and an opportunity to start again with commonsense. Except you have a very poor maths foundation caused by 16yrs of misrule and maladministration, you should be able to count at least 10states that are not APC. 10out of 19, though we still have 8unnamed.
