A police man was beaten up by people in Ogbomoso road in Oyo state this morning after the police vehicle he was riding in was accused of causing an accident in the area. The eye witness who spoke to www.metronaija.com said the police van was chasing a taxi for reasons he doesn't know and the taxi crashed into another car and into the bush and burst into flames. Yes Sir, I understand people's anger, expecially some experiences people might have had. But it is dangerous to assault these people. It is a very serious crime and can fetch one loooooong years in jail + torture if convicted. You knw we are also angry with politicians but assaulting a governor or the President is punishable by death sentence.

Well, you're right but you and I know how I strongly feel about authorities but when the same authority decides not to play by the tenets of democracy and apply the rules religiously I for once would call their bluff and ask anyone with any sense of revenge and capacity to do as they wish.

I will not fold my hands and watch someone use any form of authority to harass and humiliate me destroying my self worth and toss my dignity to the dogs

Trust me ,until Nigerians starts doing some nasty things to these so-called politicians for no reasons, they will change their ways not necessarily because they want to do the right thing but simply afraid not attract the attention of one frustrated man that has nothing to lose.

Some radical actions needed to be carried out for authorities with no conscience to sit up and do the right thing.

If you make rules and continuously break them then I have every right to go criminal and take my pound of flesh - Catch me and use your rule of law but until then it would be fifty fifty.

Sometimes the innocent suffer for the sins of someone else. Why do I say so? Let's look at this story on assult on the policeman. Those policement will regroup and send crack team to raid and arrest 'innocent' people which they will term 'suspects'. They will demand that each of those people pay money (usually between 20-50k) to free themselves. The poor ones among them will be charged for leading gangs to assault policemen or may even be termed a notorious armed robber. Alternatively, they could even allocate a robbery/assassination incident to them. Police are unforgiving. It is only posterity that catch of with some of them. A mass protest however would solve many things provided that it is peaceful.
