Ferdinand was not world class but I would say Vidic was close to World class. In his time he was one of the best maybe in amother era say 90's he might not have been rated as highly.

Generally people especially all these newbie fans throw the term world class around recklessly. Some already call hazard, Sterling Harry Kane world class. That's why I call them DSTV fans. Ask some Manure DSTV fans the world class players in man utd and they would list over 30players yet Ferguson the manager himself named just 4

I don't know what you always mean by DSTV fans but in the short time that I have been following Man United, I can name more than four world class players even if their prime years with us were not that long.
Schmeichel & van der Sar EASILY grace the list for starters, not more than two goalkeepers from their respective times can beat their chest @ being better.

oshea - brown - vidic - heinze(2nd leg)

and vidic was rushed back from injuries after evra got injured in the first leg tie.
in that defence, first teamers like neville & rio were missing and vida was half-fit.

but from my time i can say Scholes, Gerrard, Lampard, Ferdinand & Ashley Cole were world class players i have seen from England. Wayne Rooney & John Terry were very close. Campbell, Adams & Seaman were close.

season after season. right now, the quantity of quality players is incredible
