Another party tells him off, insinuating he's backward, suggesting that since American Army, Marines and Navy all have Air wings/divisions, Nigeria should have same.

I find it out of order to always compare ourselves with America in almost every sphere of Nigerian life..We need to compare ourselves first with our mates, before we look higher.

An army aviation unit is an aviation-related unit of a nation's army, often described as an air corps. These units are generally separate from a nation's dedicated air force, and usually comprise helicopters and light support fixed-wing aircraft.this

The tasks of each army's aviation units are defined slightly different, depending on nationality. Some general characteristics, however, apply to all army aviation units regardless of provenience:

Last shot, Nigeria will need to have deep strike capability and that is where the air force needs to be upgraded. It already has rotary platforms for other utility uses. NAF needs Su-30 and the JF-17 thunder like yesterday.

Back to the topic; for those who see the new NA Aviation Corp as a waste go do a research on the US Army's 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne) covertly known as the " Night Stalkers" before you come here to vomit rubbish from the comfort of your home/office.

The insurgency in the north east showed the capability gap of not having a dedicated army aviation unit. I can authoritativly tell you the unit is getting new Turkish T129 Attack Helicopters and we maybe the first foreign launch customer.
