By the way, I bought my accord 2005 i4 engine in April this year. The check engine light just showed up about a month ago. My bf took it to automechanic in Festac and the said the catalyst was the issue.
They disengaged the light and just after 3 days the light came back on.
I have noticed a sharp increase of my visit to fuel stations.
I drive a total of 60km, to and fro work every day and buys petrol of almost 5k in a week.
Please is this normal?
And what is this catalyst?
Does the catalyst has any bearing on fuel consumption?

Hoping to buy my Toyota(whatever brand I can afford) car before or at the end of 2017. I just love Toyota cars. Maybe it's because I see a lot of them on the road but I love them.

Catalyst is for emission control and it does affect fuel consumption. But I don't think it should indicate the check engine light though.

Mitstibushi, volvo and mazda should appear b4 landrover, kia , hyndia or chevrolet
