Let's clear the air on why Igbo's say Yoruba's are slaves to their Fulani masters
Let's go back to history,the Biafra war specifically.....when Odumegwu Ojuku wanted to seceded his region,he needed just a little help from the Yoruba's, which would have led to a more peaceful secession, that would have been southern Nigeria vs northern Nigeria.......
After Ojuku was so desperate of secession, he reached out to Awolowo(who was in prison then) to join him in seceding the whole southern Nigeria,then after the war,they will go their separate ways to be Oduua republic and Biafra......when Gowon heard of what was conspiring between Ojuku and Awo,he offered to release Awolowo from jail,and make him the highest ranking civilian of his day,but instead of helping a desperate Ojuku,Awo jumped on Gowon's offer,rendering Ojuku completely helpless....that was enough alone,Awolowo helped the Fulani controlled military government in intelligence in defeating the Biafrans ...Ojuku hated this,the Igbo's hated this....so it was natural for the Igbo's hate of Yorubas ....
My verdict:Awolowo was both right and wrong:he was right in the sense that Nigeria was a new nation,so secession of other parts of the nation wasn't the best answer as,it will create potential enemies of each other,look at India,Pakistan,Bangladesh.. these 3 nations were once one,but now they are their worst enemies, also South Korea, North Korea... they were once a nation,but now they are the two countries where their hatred for each other is immeasurable to any other part of the world, also Malaysia and Singapore, once a nation,but potential enemies forever....China/Taiwan also....I understand this good reasoning of Awolowo, but he was wrong because he assisted in the genocide of the Igbo's, tactically, he was wrong because he accepted Gowon's offer which was for selfish reasons,.
Conclusion: Igbo's hate Yoruba's because of Awos actions.

My good friend, secession is what's best for us. if d Nigerian state wants to be enemies then fine. see how improved south Korea has become while the north Koreans keep wallowing in pity. if they are not scared, let them stay on their part when biafra is declared, give us 10 or 15 years and see if we will not be like south Korea to them

I agree with you, I'd also like to be a Biafran if the secession happens,but I also love Naija no matter what happens in the next 10 years from now on
