Finally, I don't see any reason why Tompolo's registered companies cannot receive government contracts. One thing we can be sure of however is that unlike what was obtainable before when these companies receive funds and dont execute the jobs, this time around, they would ensure they diligently execute.

Can you see this is stall news and didn't come from new NIMASA DG as claimed here?

The news was reported on 16th of July 2015, this was even before the Dr. Akpobolokemi was sacked by the President Buhari
TheImp:
Nigeria – NIMASA has rubbished reports that the federal government has broken off its relationship with Tompolo’s company which is in charge of pipeline security in parts of the country.
Isichie Osangbi, Deputy Director of Public relations for the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) denied receiving any directive from the presidency to discontinue payment to Global West Vessel Specialists Nigeria Limited (GWVSNL) for the provision of platforms for security of the nation’s waterways, which is owned by the ex-militant leader.
“NIMASA is a government agency and would always implement government policy or reform in the maritime sector and not to be seen doing the opposite. Also, as a government agency, NIMASA ought to be in the know if there was any such directive or change in policy, since the alleged directive, according to those peddling the rumour, was meant for the agency to put an end to all payments to Global West Vessel.
“I tell you with due sense of responsibility that there is no such directive. If there is, nothing would have stopped NIMASA from informing members of the public or issuing statement to that effect,” he said.
“We are aware of our core mandate and we will do everything to enforce the federal government law as it affects the maritime sector. No rumor or falsehood will distract us,” he said.
The maritime security contract was approved by former President Goodluck Jonathan and awarded by NIMASA in 2011.

There is no law that precludes Tompolo from executing contracts, provided due processes are adhered to & it's not used as looting & arms acquisition front..

Buhari didn't respect resource control when he ended amnesty, ended their 65k monthly salaries, cancelled pipeline protection contracts, stopped scolarship stipends for militants abraod...... But wen Tompolo called his generals to meeting, d dúllard quickly changed his stand.

And you really think he's being left in place not because he has to answer for the past but because he supposedly scares the Federal Govt?

You just relax and watch what is about to unfold in your country. Why do you think Mr.Dokubo has fallen in line and is singing a different tune today?

Keep deceiving yourself.

Which different tune is Mr Dokubo singing? Search him on Facebook and see for yourself.

I thought you guys said Bubu will cancel Tompolo's contract and nothing will happen.

I don't know why PDP supporters are happy about this I think it is true that some people will die in poverty for a few people to be rich. Tom Polo's contract does nothing for the poor people in the Niger Delta and we hope that this more serious FG will ensure good service delivery and also force the man to employ a lot of youths otherwise it is just killing the Niger Delta. It is stupid to enrich a few people like Jonathan started. These are generational issues and the whole thing stupidly unsustainable. If Tom Polo dies today what happens?.

Two things here:

First of all I think nigerians are so used to the idea that the president meddles in every single thing happening in every sector. While this has been the reigning perception in the past, in reality its simply not possible.

Secondly here, the fact that there was no directive doesnt necessarily mean that the action was/will not be carried out. Please examine the statement carefully

You want the country to have shut in production, when naira is falling and little income is coming from sales of crude due to low pricing.

Buuhari will prefer the little bombs in north than bomb in Niger delta. Una presido too like money.

I have read every single post on this thread so far and I am flabbergasted that no one is intelligent enough to decipher the undertone of this contract.
A Buhari-led federal government,an anti-corruption government,an administration that has decided to be prudent in its spendings due to the dwindling global Oil price, still upholds a contract with an Ex-militant??
Fellaz, this contract will become a reference point by the northerners when Buhari-led government decides to grant amnesty to Boko Haram members, which will come with monthly allowances and juicy contracts to their leaders...Think,people!!!

It is stupid to enrich a few Nigerians like Jonathan started. Just hear yourself

1. Is it today that Presidents have been enriching people. Which President has not awarded exploration licenses to friends and family. Mention one from Obasanjo I to Yaradua.

2. If it is stupid how come it was acceptable before Jonathan now it is not. Does 'stupid' have a term limit.

Your problem is that it concerns a Niger-Deltan President giving favour to a Niger-Deltan indigene. Shame. The Mai-Deribe's, TY Danjuma's and Alakija's (to mention a few) were not Petroleum Engineers, Petrochemical experts of any kind when they were awarded blocs and

3. How have these people improved their communities, States and the nation at large. Is it not them and their families alone.

Shame, shame, shame.

Am not from the Niger-Delta but I have lived and worked there. Those people deserve every penny they get legally or illegally, individually or communally because since oil was discovered there 40 years ago they have stood by and watched what you criticise them of doing now been done to them. Nigeria has no case as far as I am concerned.
