Top 5 Reasons For Diezani’s Arrest by harizonal123(op): 2:39am On Oct 03, 2015
The arrest of Diezani Alison-Madueke in London might become one of the loudest cases of a top Nigerian official prosecution.

Personality of the former petroleum minister has been associated with a series of corruption scandals and controversies.

The arrest comes days after President Buhari met with senior UK’s officials David Cameron and Gordon Brown in the course of his visit to New York. It should be recalled that during that very US trip the Nigerian leader also named himself as petroleum minister.

1. Private jets purchase

The minister was once accused of having spent N10 billion of public funds to charter, operate and maintain a jet for her private use.

The lawmaker who filed the motion said the expenditure would be only “a tip of the iceberg” adding that many more billions could have been frittered on flying the jet all over the world “obviously for the leisure”.

Alison-Madueke, however, strongly denied the allegation, characterising sthe stories as mere fabrication.

2. More embezzling

About a year ago Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, who was at that time the acting CBN governor, said Diezani was among those who should be held responsible for disappearance of $20 billion in oil revenues from the national treasury.

3. Indian commissioner has a say

The Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ajjampur R. Ghanashyam, has recently insisted that the NNPC had used intermediaries in the annual $14 billion deal instead of just signing a long-term agreement with New Delhi during Diezani’s term in office.

“How many years is it? Nine years. Even to get the concession is not possible, and the money is not refunded to us. For nine years your country has been sitting on this, and they make us go round and round and round. We buy $15 billion worth of crude oil per year and we have the potential of importing $50 billion worth of crude oil from Nigeria.”

4. Generous $250 million from Deizani to Buhari?

The former minister was said to have offered this huge amount to the federal government in order to receive immunity from prosecution and investigation of any kind.

An APC members, who pleaded for anonymity, said:

“Mr President considers the $250 million as ridiculous considering the amount of money Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke is suspected to have diverted into her pocket and those of others.”

5. Asylum seeker

One of the facts that might serve as prove of the illegality of the ex-miniter’s activities is that following Buhari’s inauguration, Diezani was seeking an asylum abroad. It was reported that she had been refused on by at least six countries.

Her official media aide dismissed stories saying she had never even applied for any asylum.

Akwa Ibom Civil Servants Employed Since Nov/Dec 2014 Have Not Been Paid A Dime by playtheblues: 9:00pm On Oct 02
It is with deep sorrow that I write this.
We Akwaibomites are usually very peaceful and are not the types to complain easily. This is the reason why Udom Emmanuel thinks he can do anything to us and get away with it.
While Udom is busy building mansions in his village and who-knows-elsewhere we the latest employed staff of Akwa Ibom Civil Service (employed since Nov/Dec 2014) have not received even a kobo of our salaries from the Government and we are expected to come to work daily.
Most of us have been borrowing money from people and our sponsors are now tired of supporting us.
It is going to a year since we were employed, yet our salaries have been withheld all in the name of countless biometrics.
Udom has fixed our money in the bank to attract interests for him.
Everyday we are asked to sign one paper or the other in the name of bank verification yet we have not seen any salary.
Some of us who are posted to far places spend a lot of money on transportation to and from work yet Udom does not care.
My lawyer cousin who was also employed with me told me that they sponsor themselves to courts, prisons and police stations daily without any salary. They also sponsored themselves to Bar Conference in Abuja in August 2015 without even a single penny support from Udom/the Government.
The engineers are not left out as they are sent out to the field in a scorching sun with empty stomachs.
Human Rights activists in Nigeria please intervene in this matter. The masses should please join us into talking sense into our obviously selfish Governor into paying us our accumulated salaries.
I am a married man with a family to support. Udom please don't make us think of commuting suicide like that civil servant in Bayelsa who committed suicide due to unpaid 13-month salaries. Don't reduce us to beggars/chronic borrowers either.
We are tired of this hardship! We are grieving.

AMD's battering has only begun! The interesting aspect of this whole saga is that there's no way, I mean no way she'd be quizzed without GEJ coming to the fore. The simultaneous spotlight shining on the Saraki and AMD is just so good to be through.

If some people like they should wail from now to the end of the world. Justice must take its course!

Whose fault was it that Jonathan did not set the ball rolling on Amaechie so called loot before Jonathan left office? Do you think if Jonathan had done his job well, EFCC would not be going after Amechie today? Present the paper trail of Amechi's loot, please. This present government is interested in proof and not just all these empty accusations or murmuring from kangaroo 'fact finding' commission sitting in Port Harcourt. Send a concrete proof to EFCC/ICPC/CCB for thorough scrutiny of Amechie misdemeanors.
