Have You Jumped Class,in Primary/secondary School? by kstadaura(op): 3:27pm On Oct 05, 2015
Jumping class for student is another thing that some parent need to stop doing or encourage their children to do.

This happens when parent think that their child is brilliant enough to move to next class even without him writing promotional exams, it happens mostly in private school where mostly the father will come and plead with the teachers to move his child to the next class just like that and the most annoying is when a child is demoted his father will come saying that he didnt agree and his child most be promoted along with his class mates.

Many students now write waec from SS2 and i think that has contributed to mass failure in both The waec and jamb and such type of students are the ones that end up with lots of carryover at the end of the semester.

I think parent should help their child to have a very good foundation so that he will not find it hard in the future not that just because your child speaks and writes english you think that he is good enough.

Have you jumped class,Do you know someone that jumped class and what are the consequences?

I did.
A lot.
This happens when parent think that their child is brilliant enough to move to next class even without him writing promotional exams, it happens mostly in private school...
The above is true, except I changed schools after a year, skipping a class each step.
Stayed in the same Primary school till Primary 4-> JSS1-> Skipped to J.S.S.3-> Couldn't skip to SS2 so did S.S.1-> Skipped to S.S.3.
Had to stay at home because no public university in Nigeria would admit me.
After entering the university I discovered there was nothing like double promotion.
So took it slow from there.
