The President of the Senate Bukola Saraki, gave this mandate immediately after a petition against the nominee from Kaduna state was presented by Sen. Danjuma Lar, APC, Kaduna South...

If at all the Senate would consider any petition, it's gonna be the ones from APC States. Or those who lack the Educational Qualifications to become Ministers. Lest I forget, the Constitution state that whoever that is qualified to vie as a Member of the House of Reps is qualified to be a Minister. I.e, one needs the qualification of a House of Reps Member to become a Minister. Who no qualify to vie for House of Reps among them? The former PA to the Sec-Gen of UN? Or the PhD Holders among them? Or the Medical Doctors? Abi na the Barristers and SAN's?! Guy, forget there, all of them would be cleared. . If at all them no clear anyone, it would be on the stance of the person's State of Origin. Buhari carefully selected them.

As for Pa Chukwudi, if you think that people like Fashola, Amaechi, Fayemi et al, you're deceiving yourself. APC Senators tried hindering the clearance of Obanikoro but they couldn't. So also, PDP SINators can do nada. I heard Wike said he would commit suicide if Amaechi is cleared as Minister from Rivers. Tell him the people of Niger Delta are greatly behind him as he commits suicide. We love him but grave loves him more.

Lest I forget sir, Saraki Ministerial Nominee from his State was abruptly rebuffed and replaced with that of Tinubu. Is Saraki no longer popular in his State? I thought Bolaji Abdullahi was his choice, why does Buhari prefer Lai Mohammed who's widely believed to be Tinubu's boy over that of Saraki in his State? Tinubu is taking over Kwara gradually. tongue I hail you sir Agbogbaku!!

Petititons against Amaechi – My Humble Advice To the Senate Committee on Ethics, Code of Conduct and Public Petitions

Recall that immediatelly after the Presidentail Election in Rivers State on Saturday 28 March 2015, while the results were being colliated, the All Progressive Congress (APC) petitioned the then Chairman of INEC; Prof. Attahiru Jega insisting that there was no election in the state.
Jega after receiving the petition in his wisdom and considering the essence of time, dispatched some three wise men to Rivers to ascertain the true situation on ground. These wise men concluded their findings and thereafter adviced the INEC Chairman on the way forward. The Petition did not see the light of day, it was thrown out.

Same way, the petitions against Amaechi should not be politized in the Senate Chambers as some ‘dishonorable’ Senators shouting No! No!! No!!! attempted to do to the disgrace of the hallowed Chambers on Tuesday.

Firstly, as Senators who understands the Senate Standing Rules, shouting No! No!! No!!! in an attempt to surpressing a Public Petition is as shameful as the word ‘shameful’ can be spelt and a serious No, No for Honorable Senators to be seen doing on live broadcast.

Secondly, attempting to Silence Senator Sekibo would amount to attempting to silence the Voice of the People of Rivers State whose Representative in the Senate had been duly acknowledged and granted permission to speak by the Senate President.

Thirdly, attempting to silence a Public Petition without even citing the content of the Petition goes to show that those APC Senators are only interested in playing dirty party politics with the lives and dignity of Nigerians more particularly here, the good people of Rivers State. Today we are talking about Rivers State, it could have been any other state including the APC controlled states. Are they saying openly that public petitions should be slaughtered on the alter of Politics?

Commend the Senate President’s Approach.
Well, at this point I will like to commend the Senate President’s approach which also proves that Dr. Saraki is not a Senate President of the APC but of Nigerians. His matured handling showed that irrespective of Party Affiliation, every Public Petition to the Nigerian Senate should not be politized and must be given the appropraite attention it deserves no matter who is against or for it. The Senate Committee on Ethics, Code of Conduct and Public Petitions was directed to look into the petition which was the right thing to be done according to the procedure of the Senate Rules on Public Petition. Kudos to Dr. Bukola Saraki…!!! Posterity will salute your kind someday…!!!

Advice to The Senate Committee on Ethics, Code of Conduct and Public Petitions
The Senate Committee members should come to Rivers State immediately, meet with various stakeholders to prove if the Petitions as alledged are authetic or not then advice the Senate as part of the Committee’s task which includes recommending to the Senate from time to time such administrative actions as it may deem appropriate to establish and enforce standards of official conduct for the Senators.
The Committee can come as a whole or form another Sub-Committee to visit the State or invite the petitioners to Abuja, look into every allegation details by details before the Screening of Ministerial Norminees will commence and advice the Senate if Amaechi should be invited for screening or be declined.

My Humble submission.

Definitely! But it is good that you are not fooled by what Saraki said in the open cos that's what you want to hear. Most of the nominees will take a bow at the end of it all. These people are politicians.
