The news article talks specifically about money that was lost between 2006 to 2015. Who should we blame? Guru Maharaji?

GEJ's government sha!!

2008. Yar'Adua Presidency. Oil Subsidy N360.18bn
2009. Yar'Adua Presidency. Oil Subsidy N198.110bn
2010 GEJ Presidency. Oil Subsidy N416.45bn
2011 GEJ Presidency. Oil Subsidy N1.9tn

and they blamed it on the 'cabal'. This must be the first recorded case of a cabal springing up in one year to jack up prices x5.

What has oil swap got to do with subsidy removal. You had better move on and pray you make something good out of your life, you are too young to be a perpetual attcking dog for any politician.

I think it's high time the youths stand up to these old men, they've got nothing to offer, just embezzling our funds and turning several tribes against one another.

Naira keeps depreciating.

Our economy is nothing to write home about.

We end up losing several millions, is this nation cursed or something?
Which youths are u talking about?

The same one's that worship the looters in APC and PDP?

The same one's that are filled up with intense hates against their fellow youth's from different religious, region, ethnic and tribal background?

The same youths that are actively engaged on all manner of cyber crime code named Yahoo Yahoo or the female ones that knows the interior design's of all the hotel room's in Nigeria, Dubai, Italy, UK etc?

Are you talking about the same youths that spend yrs in all the tertiary institutions in Nigeria only to be found unworthy in learning and in character?

Which youths are you really talking about?

The few good one's have decided to just mind their own business.

..smh... how ignorant folks form professors here...Why insult bitterleafsoup when you know nothing ...

Oil swap came to be because of dysfunctional refineries... hence crude is exchanged for refined products which are subject to subsidy...

Subsidy removal as requested by Jonathan would have led to deregulation of downstream sector... thereby allowing more refineries(death to oil import cum oil swap); to spring up as that sector is liberated from government interference, since market forces will determine prices of petroleum products... It gives room for more investment and healthy competition among interest groups there...
