Not all Yoruba are lazy... Some of us pay ourselves like the OP said, we work our socks of to the admiration of our Igbo suppliers/Biz partners.

I have a friend who fixes very expensive brazillian hairs (I don't have any) and buys expensive bags begging me for money to complete her pay for her certificate like it is my own money that isn't good for brazillian hairs. Though I have been posting her but I feel bad, at the same time I don't want to care jare. I'm saving for the future.
