The soldiers on duty will be charged with negligence and failure to perform military duties and a board of inquiry will be set up to find out circumstances leading to the loss of a GPMG shocked. I pity the duty officer and the commandibg officer as they may be caught in the web.
Congratulations to about to be dismissed soldiers
Insider information.

Imo, Ondo, Edo, Akwa Ibom, Cross river and Abia states belong to a group of oil producing states called Niger Delta Development Commission(established in 2000). It doesn't make them part of Niger Delta region.

Niger Delta Region has been a pre-almagamated group that comprises of Warri(Delta state), Rivers state and Bayelsa state. The region was established in 1884. It was originally known as Oil Rivers Protectorate.

My brother, please accept my condolence. Lots of questions as to whether this is just a one-off criminality, or signs to something more sinister in the offing.
