Abuja City Is Overrated. by Ugomba(op):
When you compare the Nigeria capital with other Africa capitals like Dakar, Nairobi, Windhoek, Gaborone, Libreville etc you find out that Abuja is Overrated despite the Oil money used in building it.
Its becoming heavily populated like Lagos and the lack of maintenance culture is affecting the city..
I watched a documentary of Gaborone, the capital of Botswana and I was WOW on how VERY NEAT and Beautiful that Country Is..
- Abuja don't have the WOW FACTOR in it and the Architectures are not charming; Brazaville, the capital of Congo Republic will give Abuja a run for its money in all aspect.
- Buhari should pump more Oil Money into Abuja for its redesigning and renewal.
- THERE IS INDEED A REASON WHY TOURISTS ARE NOT TROOPING IN TO VIEW NIGERIA CAPITAL.

The same Brazaville that has been ravaged by war and destruction for decades? You may have a little point elsewhere but I totally disagree with you on the Brazaville case.

bro I know what am talking about. Brazaville is just across the Congo River from Kinshasa. Brazaville is a historic city true, its more beautiful than Kinshasa, true.

But I still disagree with you sha. And yes, Congo Republic has had its own fair share of wars.

Do you live in Abuja? OP is very correct.. Abuja is just an overrated shiit hole. If the same ammount of money pumped into Abuja is pumped into Enugu, it will beat Abuja hands down. I was really disappointment the first time I came to Abuja..Nothing special despite all the hype angry

Op, how can you compare Abuja, a city of yesterday, with cities that had existed since forever?
In the 1990s, Abuja was still a ghost town, u can count all those living in it before midnight.
It was Orkar coup, and Babangida forcefully asking all federal government agencies to move into it that started giving it life.
And the town is not supposed to have more than 500,000 inhabitants, but there are more than 5 million people in it now.
Corrupt politicians and inconsistency of government policies are not helping matters. All the projects started by GEJ like the airport road expansion and so many others have been stalled since Buhari came in
Abuja is still a city in project, it has not matured
