Yenagoa—A State High Court sitting in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, has sentenced an accused person, Super Ojo, to 21 years in prison for raping a lady (name withheld).
Super, popularly known as Bestman, said to be the leader of a cult group, “Bobos,” was sentenced at the State High Court 2, presided over by Justice Margaret Akpomiemie.
The alleged cult leader and nine other members of his gang were said to have raped a lady at Akaba in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State in 2011.
Super was arraigned in the court in May 2014 on a four-count charge of conspiracy, rape, murder and membership of an unlawful group.
The accused was alleged to have gone to the lady’s house with four other persons, dragged her out and forcibly took her to an uncompleted building in a bush where other members of his gang were waiting and raped her one after the other.
The lady was said to have been blindfolded as she was being gang-raped and after the assault, was given a machete cut on her back.
She was said to have been abandoned in the bush where a good samaritan rushed her to the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa, bleeding from her private part after the violent sexual assault.
The lady was later transferred to the National Hospital, Abuja, for further treatment due to the degree of injury sustained and the attendant trauma.
The victim of the gang rape, it was gathered, is still discharging from her vagina.
Also the brother of the victim was said to have been murdered by members of the gang when he allegedly failed to heed their instruction to effect the release of a member arrested by the police.
Delivering her judgement, Justice Akpomiemie said, having carefully studied the arguments of both the prosecution and defence counsels as well as the testimonies of the victim, she was convinced that the allegations against the accused had been proved beyond reasonable doubt by the prosecution with the exception of count three.

They also killed her brother and you are giving him just 20 yrs goes to show that our judiciary members are just not sound in knowledge.This guy should have been handed a death sentence.

rape is one crime that I hate and detest the most.
