Land is not just sitting around in Banjul or Brufut unclaimed. The President of a country has no right to give away ancestral land on a whim, anymore than David Cameron can give out land in UK.

This is an extremely retrogressive practice only found in Africa. The same way Niger Deltans complain about their villages being given away under the Land use act is the same way villagers are being robbed of their land in the Gambia.
