My people,i have been reading and reading here from the last thread. I am packaging my application for masters. i intend to apply to 4 schools for Sept 2016 entry. i understand its wiser to apply to more than one school from what i read here. Hopefully i should get admission. My bigger concern is with TRV i think.]

Since you said we should encourage you... Let me be the first to do that...hehehe...
MO, play on the fact that this has always been your dream... You wanted to study earlier but was limited..First, fund, later Family...
You decided to focus on your career, then family while saving for your masters and having saved enough and your daughter is old enough to be left alone for a year, you have decided to pursue your dream... You could also cite that what spurred you to action was you reading a story of an old man who enrolled in school at a very old age(google this).. Age shouldn't be a barrier to achieving your dream..
cheers!

Khalesi, Thank you very much for this. infact, its breaking my heart how i will leave daughter and hubby behind so as to build strong ties back home but you have given me hope and a great idead. Please what is OSWP? Can i have ur personal email pleaseeeeeeee
Khalesi:

Though not directed at me, I think you should apply with just your son so hubby can be a strong home tie (I did same). Then when your application is successful, hubby can apply to come visiting. for your spouse you can apply for th OSWP to enable him work while in Canada. Team12 has Done the OSWP, she can guide you.

THis is my profile
age 41
undergratduatedegree LL.B 1999
grade 2.1
overall best graduand prize in my graduating class and a few other prizes
professional qualification , B.L (second class upper) 2000
Been working mostly since then: 2001 to 2002-nysc law practise
2002-2011 April - banking
2011-2013 March -home affairs issues/pregnancy/nursing mother
2013-date -admin staff in manufacturing company.

Can anyone comment on chances of getting TRV? I need some encouragement i think.

I am particularly concerned because of age, everyone here seems to be younger, infact far younger. e be like say na me old pass(smiling)

I was actually admitted in U of T as far back as 2001 and also 2002 but could not run d programme because i did not have enough money and was unable to get the schorlarship i sourced for then. so since than i have been working, home resposibilities crept in on me and i kept postponing for one reason or another till now. But i have always desired to go to canada and run my masters programme.

please look into your crystall balls and tell me whats ahead as per TRV
or better still those who have any information that may be helpfull or encouraging to me specifically, pls speak to me.

Sincerely yours.

My dear, there is no age limitation to acquiring a degree so long as u desire it. You have enough reasons to justify the long wait, just put together ur SOP with some of the reasons highlighted here and some more of ur genuine intention to further on the course..

You have what it takes now to study overseas, ur fund and all. So go ahead!

All the best!

Thanks to the veterans of this thread, I learnt every from them. OSWP is open spouse work permit. He can work while you study. once you get yours and baby's then he can apply for his. It reduces the risk of outright refusal for the entire family.
Send a PM via my profile and we take it from there.

Ease up abeg... And if you read my post, you will see that I did not in anyway discourage anyone to patronize u either... I just said this thread is anti-agent.. Maybe if you were a regular here, you'd know better...
cheers!!
educationistt:
Am sure you can see that flier isn't selling anything to you. Only asking people to attend a seminar. No one will force you to patronize an agent. The seminar is free and all questions are entertained.

Never discourage anyone from getting information that could prove useful to him/her. No one has a gun at another's head to patronize agents. Our seminar is only an info-session.

Cheers!

Age is not a limitation, I am 42 and I just got my TRV 12th of October. I even rode on my maturity in my SOP and I think it played well.

I check my account and saw that I was delayed due to the following reasons:
Insufficient financial resources
Personal assets and financial status
Is that all that was ticked? Let the house know abit abt ur profile. I think your case is simple..Just address the concerns on finance and close every other loopholes..

Cheers!

Wow, you are going for a heavy weight 46k CAD program..

Really, its a bit tight down there due to constraints on liquidity.

If you get Insufficient fund ticked, it means your sponsor's fund was not enough from CIC calculation based on your fees and upkeep. Did u include ursef as a co-sponsor, so they could assume you are taking up part of the bills? Your hubby funds too didn't reflect much. Current balances are very important plus time deposits like fixed deposits that is easy to liquidate. Since your mum has 1.5m plus 6m now, she shud try to boost the account a bit more. Ur fees alone is over 7m. Then if that is settled u could work on explaining those mutual benefit stuff to them, am sure they have no idea or better still liquidate if u can and fix or try treasury bills!

If I liquidate now, I will have access to only 90% of the 2.8m. I can liquidate after 2 years which will be in jan and apr 2016. Maybe I should defer my admission and reapply for study permit next year april because by then I will a total of 9.5m.

Also, I will be able to complete the program within a year if I start in September
Aitte, since u are already nearing the completion of the insurance, it is ok to go on as planned. You can take out time to request for ur gcms note to know exactly how ur application was perceived.

All the best! Btw what sch?
