That not withstanding, the African gods were more compassionate and not as brutal as the 'Abrahamic' gods - Yahweh and Allah. This thread misrepresents the local Gods. Amadioha and others weren't vengeful, neither were they as brutal as the 'manNailed' God you worship.

Remember what he did to those who didn't worship him in the Old Testament? Remember how he flooded the world to wipe off our species? Remember how Yahweh couldn't man until his Son chose to die on our behalf? Hahahaa, ironically, the Son showed more love than the Father. A GOD that couldn't let go of a grudge until appeased by the death of His Son.. hahahaha..

And before you say that was all Old Testament, remember the story of Saphirra and Ananias. I hope I got the spellings right.

My point: Stop running from one God to the other. Yaweh, Allah, Amadioha, Olodumare won't help you. If there be Gods, they have no interest in the affairs of men. Your politicians will continue to steal and plunder as long as the people continue to remain docile.

There are no SPIRITUAL solutions to PHYSICAL and MENTAL laziness.

God is and remains a mystery based on the diverse manifestations attributed to His Person.

Ultimately, God does not need your recognition it needs your respect for the things you can see. How can you claim to know God if you as a Christian or Moslem be so unloving and uncaring? That Google "true religion is this ...James". it is about charity.

If you are charitable you will see the beauty of God and the spirit of his Love beyond the letters upon which you erroneously formed your conjectures

You can't claim God is a mystery, and in the same breath, attempt to define his divine attributes. Who gave you such revelation? By what means can you ascertain that which by your own admission is beyond your comprehension.

Feel free to dream up whatever God you need to satiate your spiritual fantasy, it doesn't make him anymore real than the God of the suicidebomber who rewards his faithful martyrs.

In other words you must display your own inherent goodness by at least doubting and not dismissing the faith of others." For instance the Bible does not say we shall know people by their gods. it says by their fruits you shall know them.

I'd rather not engage in this futile attempt to peruse and digest Scriptures. I have huge respect for the Bible; it's a book filled with human stories, just like Harry Potter, Animal Farm etc.. There are lots of lessons to be learned from these books on the essence of life, good and bad etc.
Unlike Harry Potter, the Holy Books claim 'good' to be their sole preserve. The Quran is to the Muslims what the Bible is to the Christians; no one can be good unless through the Books.
Some Christians would argue that doing good is not acceptable to God. That only by accepting Christ will my 'good works' be acceptable to God. Well, to that I say a big FUckyou.
When I do good, I do good to my fellow humans. They require the good, not GOD. The beggar on the street requires my food to live, I don't care if God accepts that or not, I helped a fellow human and that's my primary concern. When I hurt someone, I seek restitution and forgiveness from the one I hurt. This is the principle by which I live my life.

So sorry if I dismiss your God or your definition of goodness.

But I admire your wisdom and your faith, especially the aura of maturity that emanates from your meticulous ​chosen words. I assure you I can sense the deep spirituality behind these words. You also have my assurance that I am careful around those of little faith, those whom if my words were misunderstood, are likely to be placed in great harm, both 'spiritual' and otherwise.
