What's with the recent blame absolving and revelation ideas that the military's been doing these past months?

Are you reading this thinking what im thinking while we both are thinking of what the other is thinking before we think?

Buhari and the kuti stories continue

A senior Nigerian army officer and nephew of Afrobeat
legend Fela Kuti has been jailed for six months for
allowing weapons to fall into the hands of Boko Haram
Islamists during a deadly attack, his lawyer said on
Friday.
Brigadier General Enitan Ransome-Kuti was convicted at
a five-member court martial in Abuja on Thursday for
“loss of equipment” during the attack in Baga, Borno
state, in January.
The officer was also convicted of failure to discharge his
duties but cleared of a third count of “cowardly
behaviour”, Femi Falana told AFP.
The attack on Baga, on the shores of Lake Chad, saw
hundreds of Boko Haram fighters overrun and destroy
the town and surrounding villages, including a military
base.
Militants were later seen in a propaganda video picking
through the armoury at the base, which was used by
troops from Nigeria, Niger and Chad.
Hundreds of people were said to have been killed in what
has been seen as the Islamists worst atrocity in the six-
year insurgency, although even now there is no exact
death toll.
Falana said Ransome-Kuti had been in custody for six
months and should be released for time served but the
conviction and sentence had to be confirmed first by a
military panel.
An appeal would be lodged, he said, as it was
“contradictory” to convict his client of losing equipment
but clear him of cowardly behaviour.
“Boko Haram outnumbered his men. They had more
superior weapons than the unserviceable equipment of
the Nigerian Army” which prompted the withdrawal,
Falana added.
In September 2014, 12 Nigerian soldiers were sentenced
to death for mutiny after shots were fired at their
commanding officer in the northeastern city of
Maiduguri.
The following December, 54 other soldiers were
sentenced to death for refusing to deploy for an
operation against Boko Haram.
In May this year, the military said 579 officers and
soldiers were on trial over indiscipline linked to the
conflict.
The cases, most of which have been heard behind closed
doors, emerged after complaints of poor equipment and
morale in the army against the better-equipped rebels.
Conditions are said to have improved since the start of
this year, with new procurement and investment that has
put Boko Haram on the back foot.
That has prompted calls for a review of soldiers facing
charges.

No other reason apart from because he is a south westerner. Maj Gen Aliyu on whom his troops attempted an assassination did worse thing during bokoharam fight, he was never tried. He was only redeployed. This latest is a confirmation that Nigeria operates a northern NIGERIAN Army and NOT NIGERIAN Army.

It's rare for a general in the nigerian army to lead troops to a war front. The least rank of an officer that can lead troops to a battle ground is a captain. No wonder brig enitan abandoned military equipment and fled.

I'm not surprised that the so called yoruba general ran away in the face of battle despite having an arsenal of APC's, trucks, rocket launchers, guns etc! Just like peak, cowardice is in them. Its now official, every Nigerian knows that an average yoruba man is a slimy,back-stabbing coward. They are never reliable.

Cowards in what sense? What was the military operation he refused to carry out? Or have you forgotten that so many soldiers were also shown the way out all to later discover that they were instructed to face bokoharam without weapons to fight. Is refusal to commit suicide your definition of coward?

By the way, members of the Kuti family including their family are known to be brave fighters. He was probably dismissed because he wouldn't be involved in fraudulent deals thereby prompting them to set him up You got no point
so you are now saying that buhari is setting people up?

You lack military bearing, who told you generals dont go to war, who leads?. As a matter of fact he was the multinational Joint Task Force Commander at Baga, a special operation different from the Operation lafia dole. That Task force has been even before Boko Haram started. The General will be released because he has been in detention for more than 6 months and his dismisal will be converted to retirement on further appeal. Gen Kuti is a very hardworking and nice officer known to me since he was a Capt in the 90s. It was a well planned 4am attack by Boko boys.

Your problem this time is if another Biafra/Nigeria war erupts, Oyibo no go supply Nigeriastan even one bullet to fight Biafra back to one Nigeria.

When Biafra goes, Muslim Mullahs are what shall be directing affairs in what shall 'be left of Nigeria.

Super powers helped Nigeria fight back Biafra to one Nigeria in 1967-1970.
Today, the global political situation has changed.

No super powers can arm Mullahs again - none the less in Nigeria dragged back to ground zero by Boko.

ah! ah!
kuti's offence is as clear as daylight.
and his punishment is not traumatic.
he has finished serving his time.
spent with the warm comforts of his wife, and numerous girlfriends, at the accommodations in the officer's mess.
nobody is threatening to drag him off to bar beach or the Hague, Swizzaland.
the only thing he is suffering is his dishonorable discharge and dismissal from service.
that can be fixed with a pardon when things cool down.
we are sophisticated.

No coward can endure basic military training. That is certain. This guy is just the fall guy. It is curious that he has decided not to make a public statement about the charges against him.

This reminds me of those soldiers who complained that the military was ill-equipped for battle with BH.

Cowards can endure basic military training. That changes during combat. And the Brig. General failed woefully in the protection of Baga.
