How true is that and has any one tried it before? If true, what blogs or forums?

Some are true, some are not. There are technicalities to it when thrown publicly. There are freelancers and professionals like www.blogoxygen.com who get paid to comment on Blog posts. But going solo might... Might just be waste of time.
