After the PDP Caucus meeting yesterday, 20th Oct 2015 on the Ministerial screening of Amaechi, we were reliably informed that they rose from the meeting vowing to continue to oppose the nomination of Amaechi by sticking with the report of the Senate Ethic, Privileges and Public Petition Committee that insist that since Amaechi himself claimed that issues of the Petition against him is a subject of a Court and it will be sub judicial for the Senate to entertain it, the Committe has recommended that the Senate should also stand down or refrain from going ahead with the Ministerial Screening of Amaechi cos it will also amount to Sub judicial for the Senate to screen Amaechi until the Case in Court is determined. The PDP Caucus therefore insisted that the Committee's Report should be tendered at Plenery on Thurdays and adopted. Nothing more nothing less. More details shortly 1 Like |

Effective today, Amaechi is a minister of the federal republic... The horse has volted from the barn.. This PDP folks are more aggrieved than it was previously believed. ... The Ayes would always have it as far as this Ministerial Screening is concerned. Even if all PDP Senators shout Nay when it comes to Amaechi's Confirmation, the Ayes, no matter how little, would have it. Why all the noise?! If they decide to keep opposing his Screening and no return is made to the President on or before the 21st day, then consider Amaechi a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. |
