One person has been confirmed dead while others were injured during a stampede that occurred at a crusade by Nigerian pastor, Suleiman Johnson which held at the Reunification Stadium in Bepanda, Douala in Cameroon yesterday October 20th. According to reports, the roof of the stadium caved in immediately after the crusade ended which caused panic. People began rushing and pushing themselves. Those who were injured are receiving medical attention in various hospitals.

the title of the post is completely misleading and reeks of deliberate mischief. the article says the roof of the stadium caved in while the title attributes the same structural failure to the pastor! quite unfair i must say.

Note that the roof of the stadium caved in......meaning that it is the fault of the municipal authorities.

Quite unfortunate. It's best to be calm and observe a situation before trying to escape. Easier said than done though. The roof didn't even kill or injure anyone. The death and jury occurred as a result of panic.

This is not a fair report. The pastor didn't cause the stampede or the death. According to you, the roof of the stadium caved in. so, why are u being mischievous with that title? It's baffling when we condemn our ourselves and begin to throw dusts when the white people paint us black. We are our own enemies: always in pursuit of the other person's downfall!

how did he cause the stampede? your report said the stampede started when the roof collapsed.

A simple perusal of most comments on this thread shows how deep that the level of education has fallen in Nigeria.
(1) Only one person was reported dead but the impression that I get from the comments is that a lot of people died!
(2) there is no report of the cause of death,if the victim died during the roof cave-in or during the stampede.
(3) The service has ended before the cave-in.
(4) this case is different from the Synagogue saga. Why blame the pastor for failure of facilities which was rented? The blame for the structural failure should go to the Cameroonian authorities,while the local organising committee should be blamed for lapses which led to the stampede!
Safety is of the Lord,but don't forget to lock your doors before sleeping!
