..neither is it against the law for all of them to be present at the CCB ..

Kindly tell me the offence committed by the senators by tagging along to the CCB since the Senate didn't sit ..

I think you should take note of Section Section 53(1)(a) of The Constitution and the first paragraph in the code of conduct of public officers and put them side-by-side with the reasons for the Senate's adjournment which they clearly stated was to accomodate the trial of Saraki. There lies the point.

Being partisan shouldn't mean we should encourage abuse of public institutions by public officers.m

Sorry sir, the Senate is NOT a body that is made up of 109 members, it is an institution that provides for 109 representatives of the population who are to act on BEHALF of their respective constituents. Membership of the senate is determined by the masses and it is not permanent. It only last 4 years. The senate is not a social club or some voluntary organisations. It is guided by laws that are backed by relevant constitutional laws. It doesn't belong to 109 senators but the entire Nigeria people. Same way no organisation belongs to the employees but to the employer them bring in employees to perform specific task on his behalf.

In as much as I'm always on your case for one thing or the other, I say bravo for taking the "unpopular" stand & stating the obvious....

One thing is certain now though;We can all agree that until Saraki is done with his case, Governance wil definitely wait..

As institutions, political parties are meant to strenghten democracy and not frustrate it. The action of party chieftains on this Saraki issue irrespective of their position should not conflict with Nigeria insterest. Where it does, Nigeria interest must take pre-eminence. I recognise the right of everyone to support/oppose a particular interest, but when such interest is against public interests, one have to speak out against it.

I think the Senators are seeing it in the direction of, the battle is between Saraki(The Red chamber) and the external forces without noticing that Nigerians have come into the picture(as regards the ministerial screening). So their sense of working and reasoning has been beclouded by the illusion of we must protect the Senate while unprotecting the people. We all are entitled to our freedom of many things, but when it comes to their case, they seems to forget that it's not the same. They must allow somethings so as to work for the betterment of Nigeria.
Nigeria must come first!

Well, i don't think it was saraki's decision to postpone the plenary. They all agreed to it. I heard about 81 senators accompanied him to the court. Remember APC senators are not up to 81. And not all APC senators are for saraki.

So, what i see here is that, the senators(majority of them ofcourse) take saraki's case as a case against the senate.

They will only end up destroying themselves for their failure to distinguish between interests of Saraki and those of the public.

The Pro APC supporters say it is ok cos it stops Ekweremadu from presiding over the affairs of the senate.

While the PDP folks on the other side applaud the decision cos it shows that Saraki "owns" the senate ... I'm repeating what one of my friends told me on BBM, "saraki owns the senate"..


I yaff tire for Nigeria but since I don't want to be a 2nd class citizen somewhere else, we must continue to put our best foot forward..
