Rivers Tribunal Ruling: “it Is Not Yet Time For Celebration” – Amaechi by Episteme2(op): 7:02pm On Oct 26, 2015
Former governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi, has
expressed gratitude to God for the Tribunal’s judgment which
nullified the election of Governor Nyesom Wike.
The former Governor of Rivers state has therefore tasked
Rivers People to build their hope on praise and worship to
God.
Ameachi gave the advice at an event to mark 8th
anniversary of the Supreme Court ruling which declared him
Governor of Rivers State in 2007.
He also attributed the ruling of the Rivers state
Governorship election tribunal which nullified Governor
Nyesome Wike to God.
“When they called me and told me about the ruling, the first
thing I heard was after the reggae play the blues and I said
everybody should go and praise God.
“If you thought we won by our own strength then you are
not godly and you are not a Christian.
” You can pay all the money you want to pay but if God says
it is not your turn it is not your turn. It is God that gave the
victory at the tribunal.
“Even if we win at the Supreme Court it is still not yet time
for celebration.
“This is not a new path for those of you who know me. We
did not know they had fixed Saturday for judgement, here
we are to thank God,” Amaechi said.
On his part, the Governorship candidate of the All
Progressives Congress in Rivers, Dakuku Peterside said the
ruling of the tribunal has shown that no one can assume
power by forceful means.
Peterside said he was hopeful that the party will win the
rerun election ordered by the tribunal.

He called on members of the party to be peaceful and
continue to conduct themselves decently.
