Going by your logic. . . I don't necessarily agree with you but this is what a manager should do.

If you know you have a star player who is capable of influencing games, then you pamper him. Pamper him till the season ends then you get rid of him.
That is what a manager who is not arrogant and knows about man management should do.
You don't go criticizing your star player in public when you know he is influential to the team. You only do that when you have other equal options on the pitch.

My own arguments.
Willian, Pedro and Oscar can effectively do the same thing Hazard does.
We didn't see any difference in the CL game when Hazard was benched. We didn't see any improvements when Hazard was removed at half-time in the last game.
It's not a Hazard thing. Costa had 10 goals this time last season. Fab had the highest assist last season. We still have Fab and Costa, they haven't been sold.
Even Barca does not rely on only Messi. We had poor spells countless times in the past and the team found a spring when the manager was changed. AVB and Scolari era. Hazard wasn't there then. It's de ja vu baby.
