There are many factors actually and these most times banks on the gullibility of the masses.

A perfect case study of how Religion can do this is the northern part of Nigeria, we all know the devastating toll religion has taken on them in every aspect of their lives.

Or here in the south where Poor masses who don't have take the little they have to the pastor as tithe to God. Because the pastor said that bible said that God said you should tithe.

The politicians because they use the chaotic system to gain power, dominance and wealth and the religious leaders(pastors especially) use it to also gain power dominance and wealth just like the politicians.

Take a look at the horrendous crimes Boko Haram commits against humanity - killings , kidnappings , rape ,violence - but he never points those out . Boko Haram has killed thousands and rendered millions homeless . Boko Haram has destroyed businesses and impoverished millions of Nigerians . This insurgent group armed with their weapons and wicked ideologies from his religion is a menace to our country but he is against people who are armed with the in-dept knowledge of the word of God!

I have a girl im currently working on sexually abused by her father, a family supposed to be a "christian family", worse is her mother keeps quiet about it. She hates her life right now.
Ive been encouraging her for a while till she gained admission this year. That girl will hate God at any slight oppourtunity, but i bless God she has not walked into the path of atheists ravaging lions who have nothing to offer her but doom.
She has joined a unit in her school church and shes more particular about Gods love for her.
Take it or leave it, trauma has led most people to be atheists God-haters.

Someone who hates Gods is a monotheist not an atheist seems you are confused about the two.

Misotheism is a form of a theism but that person shares a kind of hatred for such concepts even though he/she thinks it exists.

atheists don't think Gods exists or hate them, when an atheist use the tenets of religious beliefs to refute religious ideas or its god concept it is not the same as hating the god

that you mostly confuse the two is of your own making.

Till date i do not need gloat over dozens of people i have helped get through challenges in their life and i for one do not mention anything about unbelief to them. when you want to help someone do so, it is not ok to bank on the misfortunes of others to instigate religious supremacy or turn the person's mind against their belief
