I'm no APC sympathiser but methinks the infrastructures should be on ground first like a database of all unemployed youths. Even if it comes to registratn, trust Nigerians, they will first register their 5 unborn children b4 a common man will have the chance

The registration can be done and no one person can register twice. We are just not ready. Do not give excuses to a govt for failure.

Seriously this is disheartening, how would this present administration be able to pay N5000 when PDP-led government succeeded in collapsing the economy through their 'stealing is not corruption' mentality. They supported the motion not because they genuinely wanted it but to scuttle the effort of APC-led administration, knowing fully well that they have drained the treasury. GEJ and co, may your souls never find rest wherever you are. We believe no matter what we may be passing through now as a consequence of the lackadaisical attitude of the past administration towards the economy, Nigeria will rise again.

I attended the recently concluded National Economic Summit in Abuja where the Vice President stated clearly that the government intends to fulfill all of its campaign promises especially those that have to do with the welfare of Nigerian youths. He specifically mentioned the payment of unemployment benefits and the meal-a-day for school pupils as 2 promises the government was working hard to implement. He noted that the quick implementation was been hampered by the government's drive towards stabilising the economy and ensuring a revenue stream that would ensure the sustainability of the welfare packages once implemented.

The motion that was raised in the senate by the PDP legislators seeking to "compel" the federal government to commence payment of unemployment benefits was mischievous and deserved to be shot down as it was. Where will the funds to do that come from?

Perhaps if Senator Ben Bruce of the PDP and his cohort in the APC like Dino Melaye and Shehu Sani make good on their own campaign promises to lead the charge for the reduction in the pay currently due to legislators, the savings can be channeled accordingly into funding the federal government's welfare programmes.

I don't think you are on point with your comment! The country is plugged with so many issues now and you expect the federal government to start paying such money when states are crying for bail out.

The road in front of my house which was unattended to, for decades, was dualized and massively upgraded by SURE-P workers. That was the day I knew GEJ was the best President ever. The road was completed on July 2013, till this day, the road is still there, no wear, no tear. You can fool yourself, but I know the truth. GEJ and SURE-P was a success, unlike PTF that made this President, a lot of money at the expense of Nigerians.
