Seriously this is disheartening, how would this present administration be able to pay N5000 when PDP-led government succeeded in collapsing the economy through their 'stealing is not corruption' mentality. They supported the motion not because they genuinely wanted it but to scuttle the effort of APC-led administration, knowing fully well that they have drained the treasury. GEJ and co, may your souls never find rest wherever you are. We believe no matter what we may be passing through now as a consequence of the lackadaisical attitude of the past administration towards the economy, Nigeria will rise again. Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria |

Mekky05:Atleast they were honest, because they can't afford it. #25,000 and #5000 check the diffrences? But problem here is why lying and deceiving Nigerians in the first place? Does this shows they have any integrity? |

HollarWB:As if our economy was stable before GEJ becomes the president. By the way can you just create a thread and analyse or tell us how GEJ collapse our economy like Barcanista normally does to set records streight. If you can't then i will take you as one of the commercial motorcycle drivers that knows only how to circulate news without even knowing anything about the news they are circulating. |

acenazt:Did you really hear yourself well? N5,000.00 to an unemployed person will go a long way. That money will conveniently get you a Glo 4.5g data bundle to surf the internet every month and look for jobs and even make applications for job opportunities online. It will cover for your calls also. If I may ask, how much do you spend on phone calls every month? Don't lie to yourself. People like you, used denigrating words at the past president and today, it so much hurts you guys even when a constructive criticism is given to the current president. You guys simply hates the truth, meaning you pulled down a government not because it was bad but because you just wanted power. I have said it and will continue to say it, this government has no policy direction yet. |

Inioluwa01:Yes, and they will keep giving excuse till thy Kingdom. Do not forget, what you regard as trivia to you is pressing issues to others. For most, it's the only benefit they can get from government. So its important. They that promised should have thought of it before opening their disgusting mouth to lie to nigerians |
| Re: N5000 To Unemployed: Murray-Bruce Sad Over APC's Rejection Of Motion by Reptyle(m): 9:39am On Nov 05, 2015 |
I attended the recently concluded National Economic Summit in Abuja where the Vice President stated clearly that the government intends to fulfill all of its campaign promises especially those that have to do with the welfare of Nigerian youths. He specifically mentioned the payment of unemployment benefits and the meal-a-day for school pupils as 2 promises the government was working hard to implement. He noted that the quick implementation was been hampered by the government's drive towards stabilising the economy and ensuring a revenue stream that would ensure the sustainability of the welfare packages once implemented. The motion that was raised in the senate by the PDP legislators seeking to "compel" the federal government to commence payment of unemployment benefits was mischievous and deserved to be shot down as it was. Where will the funds to do that come from? Perhaps if Senator Ben Bruce of the PDP and his cohort in the APC like Dino Melaye and Shehu Sani make good on their own campaign promises to lead the charge for the reduction in the pay currently due to legislators, the savings can be channeled accordingly into funding the federal government's welfare programmes. http://expressng.com/2015/06/n8billion-allowance-ben-murray-bruce-questioned-by-angry-nigerians-on-nass-pay-cut-see-tweets/ |

hinwazaka:I don't think you are on point with your comment! The country is plugged with so many issues now and you expect the federal government to start paying such money when states are crying for bail out. Let us leave the hate statement aside and face the reality, the country isn't making so much money again compare to what was being speculated during the start up of the last election. Murray_Bruce is just being stupid as if PDP senators are saint looking for the betterment of the youths. It's a white lie cos they are just trying to play politics with it. When FG was making so much money on oil during GEJ led Government, tell me what they did to assist the youth. The SURE-P was a scam to milk money from the government by some nasty cartel in the government back then. We need to pray for this country to make it a better place instead of listening to rubbish comments from bastards using stuffs like this to play politics. |

cabaliciouscabal:The road in front of my house which was unattended to, for decades, was dualized and massively upgraded by SURE-P workers. That was the day I knew GEJ was the best President ever. The road was completed on July 2013, till this day, the road is still there, no wear, no tear. You can fool yourself, but I know the truth. GEJ and SURE-P was a success, unlike PTF that made this President, a lot of money at the expense of Nigerians. |
