Abagworo:That "tower of god" is the ugliest thing I've ever seen.. My 8 year old nephew could have designed something better.. And N31 Billion?? 31 billion?? Tallest tower in Africa my backfoot.. I beg, don't show that thing around other African countries oh.. People will just laugh in your face.. In our face.. I don't know why they keep designing bullshit.. Out of all the great artists that we have in Nigeria why must we keep having everything look so cheap and fake?? Our ancient architecture was simple and naturalistic but it looked so beautiful and exotic and majestic.. It was truly hypnotising.. A pleasure to see.. Now all our houses and our squares and our streets and even our so called "beautification projects" look like they have been vomited by mad men.. |

African leaders are very myopic. What is the economic significance of the Akachi Tower. Okorocha doesn't understand governance. You don't do whatever you like with public fund for Christ sake! Okorocha has no blueprint for governing Imo state. A poor state---useless free education, Akachi tower, overambitious projects scattered all over the state, low IGR,etc. Okorocha may be a good business man, a philantropist, a good politician,an orator BUT he is not a good governor. |
| Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Ikengawo: 10:45pm On Nov 03, 2015 |
^imagine. A pile of mud with a dying human hand on top in an untreated grassy field that looks like it has snakes. for N31billion. Our entire IGR is N8 Billion, don't forget. |
| Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Abagworo(m): 11:52pm On Nov 03, 2015 |
Ikengawo:I decided to make a remark here because I don't consider you as a non entity like some others. The original Akachi with all the accompanying projects which amounted to that 30billion was cancelled on the advice of community leaders and laxity of funds. You can read up on the protest at the proposed site in Umuguma. http://www.imostateblog.com/2012/05/17/blood-clash-owere-nchi-ise-umuguma-in-land-ownership-tussle/ The 31billion was for all the projects previously aimed at building a new city center outside Owerri but concerned Imolites adviced the Governor against it. Imo State is not rich enough to waste such money on a tower. |

I don't believe in gods and miracles, but Nigeria needs a very big miracle oh!! Things are just too bad.. This Buhari administration is make or break.. Nigeria will not survive another 4 years of failure and sub-mediocrity.. |

lygn19:How are we sure it's up to 31billion? is there any real evidence? cos I doubt if imo has up to 31billion even in 4yrs ooooooh, even that tower doesn't look up to a 50million edifice |

Lol, Pupil Politician. Gov. Rochas Okoorocha does not seem to know that no one stays on the corridors of power for too long - never for ever. And once out of power and the law enforcement agencies put him inside their cell for questioning, those in his home constituency who he has been fighting and punishing their masses since he became governor, those who are supposed to provide him with first respite or bail, he fights them and fights the masses in the areas: Rochas Okorocha continues to fight and inflict heavy punishment on his Orlu/Ideato constituency. Any doubting Thomas can visit Orlu/Ideato to see how Okorocha government reduced the area and its people. |
| Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Ikengawo: 7:20pm On Nov 04, 2015 |
Abagworo:solid explanation, except one fundamental mistake Okorocha still went ahead a built it. The youths and elders were protesting the use of their land, not the tower it's self, or the funds. There no where in the article that it says this. But you just posted a picture of the 'akachi' tower, meaning that the state went ahead and built it. There was no mention of transferring the funds to a city project, unless you have an article spelling that out. We're not happy with what Okorocha has done to Imo State, and it all shows a lack of realistic thinking and penchant for bombast |

Tetlow: Owerri's emerging computer empire Uchenna is an Engineering student at the Federal University of Technology Owerri, (FUTO). Daily, he receives a barrage of assignments from his lecturers but, there is always an angel to his rescue. That is his laptop with which he roams the cyberspace to gather all the information he needs to satisfy his often-fastidious lecturers. All was going on well until the bad guys of the cyber-world paid him an unsolicited visit. One day, while he was trying to download a file online, his system got corrupted and stopped working completely. His consolation was that there are always good guys around to fix what was wrong. These guys are located at the Tetlow Owerri Computer Village.http://www.authorityngr.com/2015/10/Tetlow:-Owerri-s-emerging-computer-empire.html |

Imo Govt chides Agip Oil over neglect of host communities For what it described as believable intentional neglect to its host communities in Imo State, the State Government has chided Nigerian Agip Oil Company, saying it was not showing good Corporate Social Responsibility to its host communities.http://www.authorityngr.com/2015/10/Imo-Govt-chides-Agip-Oil-over-neglect-of-host-communities.html/ |

asha80:And that is more like repaving than reconstruction as all I see is asphalt on top of the old road. Most of the roads constructed under Okorocha need complete re-enforcement and repaving. I hope he does it this dry season. |

This is Orlu; precisely, Amaigbo Road at St Joseph's Catholic Church junction - the most traveled road in Orlu. The Lady Lawyer leading the Umuna women in protest about this road said she was a child when Imo state government started work to channel the flood to Urashi River; that subsequent govts ignored the completion of the work, and that's why they voted Rochas Okorocha. But Rochas is rather building flyovers in the state capital. When one turns to old Owerri Road in Orlu, the same story. If Rochas contractors had not scrapped these areas and abandoned them, things wouldn't be like they are. http://theleaderassumpta.com/2015/10/05/uzoubi-women-storm-orlu-council-hqr-over-erosion-menace/

Who is posting this shatko, do not insult Imolites. I am at the government house every now and then so your images must be from some archive. There is no construction ongoing in Imo, except for the flyover. ProudIgbo, kparia onwe gi. |
| Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Abagworo(m): 9:40am On Nov 06, 2015 |
millionaireman:Nonsense! If you must criticise always do with the truth. That place was bad before Okorocha became Governor and it was man assisted natural disaster. I still remember the gully at Menacorde which made the road unusable. What the women said is the truth. The flood challenge was there before all of us were born and they voted Okorocha hoping he would end it but he could not. The important thing to do is ask your house of rep/Senate member to bring it to attention of Government. Arthur Nzeribe did better as a Senator than all these people we have now. That project is a federal one and has been used for fraud for many years. You can see the date of this link. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2010/10/in-orlu-flood-sends-5000-packing/ |
