ORIJIN201:At 19 giving up on your education isn't the wisest choice to make. Yes you failed jamb, but Jamb isn't the only means of gaining admission. Why not try admission through diploma, pre-science, pre-degree...etc. You stated something like you don't like reading. My dear to survive in life you must discipline yourself. Meaning, you must know when its time to stay away from the social media and face your books. You must know when its time to play and when its time to get serious. Also you stated you're planing on becoming an apprentice. Learning a handwork isn't a bad idea. in fact I would suggest that you enroll in part-time studies, then use your apprentice job to support yourself. Truth is if you lack basic education, it would take a miracle to become financially stable in your apprentice job. Why? Reason is you'll have so many competitors who probably would have spend years in the business and have more experience. So its safe to conclude that customers would prefer to patronize them than you. And if you lack the upper hand which is education, you might see yourself rigmarole the same grass you started from years after. Secondly, most graduates are not finding it easy to cope with the current state of the economy and starting up businesses is quite a herculean task due to the huge capital involved and cost of running the business. How much more someone without basic education, my dear you'll really find it very difficult to cope. You might be dependent on your parents for food and basic amenities for now hence your decision, but one day you'll have to face the world as a man, and if you aren't properly grounded and equipped, you wouldn't find it easy. I'm hoping you have a re-think and give your educational dreams a second chance. Good luck. |

My dear its not easy but I say calm down. I was once like u, but I finally got admission. My Advice First of all accept Jesus into into your life if u have not done so.Bible says in psalm 121 vs 1-2"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help, my help cometh from the lord who made heaven and earth" then u can pray, fast and even go for deliverance if necessary.I knw how I prayed b4 I got admission during my time.so its not just by physical strength alone,u nid divine assistance. Secondly,u nid to discipline ursef and read as much as possible.preparation must meet opportunity. While waiting for admission try to acquire a skill Also,if your sponsor can fund u, u cud also try study abroad there are tuition free schools in some European countries, but i don't knw if bsc is inclusive |

Gamesmart:It's possible. He must have been 15yrs in Ss3 in 2011 when he wrote his first Jamb. Trust me, I know of 14yrs in Ss3 and even 15yrs in Private Universities |

If you've got ready access to the Internet you can look up websites like coursera.com edx.org. They offer free online courses relevant to specific skills. As a technician, I'd also suggest you consider a diploma as a means of jump starting your academic career. We still have some pretty good but not-so-well-known schools in Nigeria (Look up PTI and MTI online) You might also want to consider leaving Lagos for a bit. I was born in Lagos and I now realize that staying there sort of limited my outlook. With all the hustle and bustle, you'd never know there could be good opportunities to be had elsewhere. Wishing success and fulfillment, whatever your choices are eventually. Cheers |
