I pity this country and wonder why judicial rascality has been prominent lately. I tot in Amaechi vs Omeha, the court held that its a party dat wins elections not individuals. So whats d basis of their decision. How can d tribunal sit and deliver judgement in Abuja. Also how did okorocha emerge as apc candidate in imo state?

The INEC must be represented in every party's primaries for it to be recognized and authentic even if it is ratification of previously selected candidate. In this case, for INEC to testify that Ishiaku was not duly elected/selected in a primary means that provision was not adhered to. Truth is in this last elections PDP took imposition of candidates to another level up to the extent they refused selling forms to presidential candidates after collecting their monies. My happiness is the judgment will be a lesson to all political parties and sincerely pray it stands up till the supreme court.

So the tribunal could not pass a judgement of re-run elections bah? SMH

Totally correct. And the reason they did this is because they assumed the elections would be business-as-usual and that GEJ would continue in power. They were therefore disinterested in abiding by laid down laws because they felt they could contravene it, even when they did not have to, and nothing would happen. They have now been voted out and it is natural, unlike before when PDP continued to perpetuate itself in power, that electoral malpractices, which the PDP is synonymous with, will no longer go unpunished. Buhari has told them that the era of impunity is over but they stubbornly fail to understand what he means. I really don't understand why PDP fans are shouting. Did those candidates you supported clannishly do wrong or not? That is the question to answer before accusing the APC or the judiciary of victimising any Party.

The onus is on the accuser to prove a case. If PDP had a good case against Buhari, don't you think they would have pursued it to a logical end? There was never a missing certificate. The military was simply politicized by the PDP.

They will continue shouting till such a time when they will come to reality after doing proper soul searching. Right now they are still grandstanding with some hogwash rebranding even when they know the characters involved as I saw are still part of the same do or die and dubiously corrupt establishment.

This can be challenged in court you know... He does not need it.

Well the fact of the matter is that the law stated that INEC should be notified 21 days to the primaries, which PDP did not. Even if the Primaries held at Abuja or the Moon, INEC was not notified. But if they have a letter written to notify INEC of their primaries In Abuja, then the should head to a higher court.

I don't sympathize with PDP one bit. You and I, and hopefully every Nigerian know that PDP didn't challenge the presidential election because Jonah had no balls. The seat was too hot and may be, way more above his abilities. I don't mean any disrespect to the ex-presido.

PDP couldn't fight APC and PMB because Jonah didn't want to. Not because they didn't have a case. If an adult is raped and she decides not to press charges, there's nothing anyone can do about it. The "aggrieved" decided to go home with his "loot".

Therefore, in the eyes of the law, Etiaba was never a governor. Ditto for Ngige.

There was no conduct of primaries by APC in Imo State yet the Muhammadu Buhari's tribunal upheld the election of Okorocha. In fact, the report reaching us had indicated that Okorocha's son in-law was named not nominated as APC candidate Imo State. Nigeria is a joke and it seems worse everyday.

The freaking tribunal is made up of a bunch of illiterates masquerading as lawyers. I'm ashamed on their behalf for the so called grounds for nullification. The sections of the electoral law cited as the foundation for the conclusion can only be invoked if there was a challenge to the results of the primary by a member of the PDP. It cannot be invoked by a person who has no locus whatsoever to challenge the primary. APC's candidate had no locus to challenge PDP's primary. As if she knew, she did not do anything in that regard in her petition. Her lawyers knew she had no basis to question the emergence of the governor as the candidate for PDP. The tribunal in its effrontery, raised the issue suo moto. The tribunal does not have the freedom to raise issues not raised by either of the parties. Doing so, will be fatal to the case as it will give the impression that it sided with one of the parties thereby depriving the other his/her fundamental rights to fair hearing. Citing the electoral law, at best, was an attempt to grasp at straw in attempt to arrive at a preordained result. I guess the lady was not able to prove electoral malpractice that would justify a judgement in her favor. if there were to be hope for the judiciary, the judgement will not stand the test of time in the appellate courts. Every member of that tribunal, who is a lawyer, has to be sanctioned. It's very shameful. Mind you, I'm just an obsever.

Whoever is the tribunal chairman is a disgrace to the legal profession and a meddlesome interlopper. Cry my beloved country Nigeria, things have fallen apart and the centre cannot hold, sitting on the fence is not a virtue our country is being turned into a place for the wretched of the earth and nigerians are no longer at ease.
