I know you‘ve never read
a piece like this
That’s because it’s not
just poetry; it's a diss
You might say this can
only be written by a black
May be because it’s not
so different from a rap

But take a moment, loo!k
beyond the rhymes; read
About the great drunkards
of our time; paid to lead
About the corruption infested
system of my age
About apocalyptic killings
in the name of faith
Take a moment of your
time and ponder
Of Nigerians within your
sight and yonder
Famous; in trouble for
calling on the name of God
Yet with the vile attitude of
“chop I chop”

This is a diss poem to the
selfish people
Who sell their votes and future
to men, so feeble
This is a diss poem to the
so-called leaders
Who have managed morph
into treasury looters
This is a diss poem to my
oil rich country
For bringing out the greed
in the eyes of her sentries

This is a diss poem to you
critic or reader
For not believing enough
in Nigeria
This is a diss poem
dedicated to me,
For daring to write a
diss poem about my country.
