The imbalance trade that affected Nigeria for decades which just took a little turn around in few months is bringing about shook in the economy of these countries. This is the reason Africa will not grow until we refuse their grants/aids and tighten our policies in the area of imports, training, local technological development, restriction of studies abroad and development of local contents.

Let us use what we have. if you can not assemble your vehicle in Nigeria, forget about Nigerian market.
Thank God we have a change in the right direction.

This is from a man without a university degree. Some will say the current minister of finance has got very little experience. Please keep your input and relax. we must see a new and better Nigeria.

God bless Nigeria.
God bless you. You have spoken my mind.

The countries need to wail us a river.

Are they not rejecting many of our non-oil exports on basis their own self imposed quality standards.

What about their refusal to trade in our currency on any level?

What indigenous economy?
Indigenous economy and yet he opened the borders to indiscriminate rice imports.
Compare this to the much maligned jonathan that focused on home grown agricultural self-sufficiency, and an attempt at rewamping the home-grown automobile industry,e.t.c.
It was the jonathan administration that even blocked the EU trade deal.
The west is annoyed with buhari, but his phantom indigenous policy is not one of them, because it is virtually non-existent.
Stop trying to be a sycophant.
you are the one that is a sycophant because you guys help to spread NOI lies that our economy was strong even when states could no longer pay salaries. GEJ destroyed our very weak economy with his stealing is not corruption mantra and until you guys start telling yourself the truth about GEJ's tenure, your wailing may lead you guys to hell fire.

How will you explain the so called agricultural transformation by GEJ when rice importers were still being given waivers but yet the agric minister keep telling lies that Nigeria was reducing the importation of rice and producing enough rice?

The do you know what i just realized? Africa as a whole can single handedly cripple the west without any war or sanctions, and i promise you, the downfall of the west will mean the uplift of Africa. Here is how africa can do it.
1. Hold secret meetings between all nationalistic african leaders on how to gradually completely stop exporting raw materials to the west by implimenting protectionist policies. So that if western companies aren't willing to set up real manufacturing plants here in africa, then no more raw materials, instead invest in our own know how to utilise those raw materials.
2. Africa should aslo impose strict monetery controls such that borowwing dollars to import agric products cannot be allowed anymore. Instead, companies should farm and add value to the products here in africa and pay taxes. By now, western companies will start to feel the pinch, and start complaining because there revenues will surely be depreciating.
3. Deliberatly assist willing migrants to flow into western countries massively, thereby over stretching theri finances and societies, simultaneaously offering massive pays to real skilled africans to remain in africa and even attracting the west's best minds.
4. Since they can't do without african oil, silicon, bitumen, gold, Gas, e.t.c Huge taxes should be impossed on those items

I promise with these policies, the western economy will definitely come close to hitting rock bottom. And the will be the opportunity for africa to truly rise and shine. Africa should try doing that not because of anything but the pleasure of seeing the we are important too and can actually use our power too and if anything, to play with their economies like they did with ours for centuries.
Only one sanction from the west and African as a whole is doomed. Imagine if you can't get certain software, expatriates and equipment used in exploration, those mineral resources would remain underground forever. Be careful what you wish yourself, you don't want to go the Cuba way.

Truth is the western powers are wary of PMB especially in his drive to revamp Nigeria's indigenous economy, we really need to pray, they don't continue to use pdp and their biafra touts to incite Nigerians against PMB. reason PMB himself has assembled a bunch of fearless cabinet members like fashola, audu ogbeh, amaechi and so on. It takes guts to deal with the western world and call their bluff.
Arrrh, what a poor memory. Obama invited buhari, german chancellor etal. All of you guys were clapping. Apc even hired experts from the US and the UK. How times fly. Watching with bold SMILE. BOMERANG?

The US has stopped buying Nigeria's crude. Their pursuit of shale oil is part of the reason price of crude has dropped. So why should Nigeria not defend itself?
Re: United States, EU Report Nigeria To World Trade Organization. by omojeesu(m): 5:12pm On Nov 12, 2015
They don't want to let go of their economic exploitation of Nigeria.

May God preserve PMB from globalist powers that sustain the world's unjust system and are working day and night to entrench an 'irreversible' New World Order!
Re: United States, EU Report Nigeria To World Trade Organization. by Kjking(m): 5:12pm On Nov 12, 2015
For the first time I give credence to the action by PMB the U.S and EU have take advantage of us for far too long...for crying out loud we ain't no dumping ground for their goods..... Fine in as much as we need foreign investment we also need to maximize our potential.... China did same at some point and today look at where der are today! all we pray for is for good leadership.... that's.... the U.S and E.U all just selfish they do everything for their own interest...

Re: United States, EU Report Nigeria To World Trade Organization. by trapQ: 6:09pm On Nov 12, 2015
Nobody is stopping importation. it is only being limited.

for any country to excel, her export revenue MUST as a matter of fact exceed her import revenue by a large margin. This is a step in the right direction. This administration is trying to encourage local production which will help us in the long run. If we play our cards right and increase production, African countries will prefer trading with us than with the Europeans.
EternalTruths:
You don't need to stop the importation of their products

Invite their companies to build factories here in Nigeria and send part of their profits to their home country in order to douse economic tension

I hope you understand the economic politics I want Nigeria to play.

Yes o they think they are smart, they dont care about the Nigerian economy but they want Nigerians to keep importing their products into the Country.

The stupidity of many NLers is bewildering. Most of them conveniently ignored the part which says that Nigerian delegates have also complained. Kids all over here mehn. All businessmen I knw are complaining bitterly, even Chamber of Commerce has complained, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria has complained una dey here dey behave like the proverbial ostrich. I weep for this country. Next year is looking very very bad from what I see. Inasmuch as I hate US, what is being said by them nw has been said severally by our indigenous firms too. Block heads abound on NL I swear and most of them are buhari supporters. It's a pity...
go back and read why they reported Nigeria to wto.
it has absolutely nothing to do with what u wrote,
rather its because our importers cant access the needed foreign currency to buy their gooods.
Foreign powers- be it west or china, dont care if ur manufacturing sector is functioning or dead,
all they care about is making Nigeria a dumping ground for their finished products.
and now, they are crying foul since thats increasingly difficult.
did america take permission from us before flooding the market with shale oil thus markedly reducing our sole source of revenue.
so why should we seek there consent to protect the naira.
and I dont even know what we are doing in wto, its not like we benefit from it anyway.
its the likes of china or south korea that should be worried if they are kicked out.
They are exporters of finished products and consumer goods.

as per the issue u raised
if the F.G hadnt intervened, I can assure u by now the dollar will be exchanged for #350.
you dont expect us to wait and allow the naira to attain a junk status.
those measures are temporary to protect the naira.
Now that we have an economic team, long term policies will be implemented to ensure we diversify the economy, assist local manufacturers, block financial wastage, create favourable environment for FDI and boost export.
all these will put pressure off the naira and it can be allowed to trade freely with other currencies.
And this is when we can talk of joining wto and benefiting from it.
there is no shortcut to success, everybody must give there own pound of flesh.

Africa pose no threat whatsoever to the US. The combined African GDP is just at $2.0 trillion compared to a single US state of carlifornia with a GDP of $2.3trillion grin grin.
The US provided a forum called the AGOA for african countries to export their products to the US as a means of helping them.
South Africa decided to play smart by eating her cake and having it at the same time, and the US threatened to drop the hammer and they would be in the right.
was about to explain a lil commerce n trade for u but that's long story because from your tone you think USA really Cares for Africa , pls nobody is father Xmas everything the US does is for the betterment of the US first and foremost .

they opened that forum but within them they know we Won't export much because we lack the technology and processes to meet their strict product quality requirement. EU countries are also banning many goods from African counties citing poor quality and health regulations.

they offer us(Africa) fair agreements but filled with clauses they know we can't satisfy so please if s/Africa tries to play smart I say that shows ambition!

bro these people have internet but refuse to use it for anything. other than porn, chat sites , job seeking sites or sports sites..

it was during GEJ tenure the states couldn't pay salary. the dollar started killing the naira, our surep,.Fed acct n Swf all dwindled whilst our foreign reserves were falling

also these people fail to realise RICE WAS STILL ALLOWED INTO NIGERIA BUT ONLY THROUGH SEA(PORTS). the new customs guy decided that since smugglers were still operating on the land route profitably and we were losing revenue it was better to just open the land border to accept rice so we collect duties .

but hey these people won't know because their main source of info is their neighbour.

Go n read about AGOA and see the types of products traded under the arrangement.
They are mainly primary commodites like cocoa, rubber, timber, palm oil, tea, coffee etc, natural resources and oil n gas.
Try and export consumer goods or finished products and see the kain barrier u will meet at their borders.
If they are really serious about AGOA, let them assist in the area of technology transfer, availability of cheap funds, technical skill assistance in manufacturing n production, power n infrastructural development in our special economic zones.
Then we can produce quality n standard goods that will meet their stringent requirements at their borders.
