Because PDP could not keep up their end of being a credible opposition party does not mean Nigeria is sliding into dictatorship. They have been so used to their acts of impunity without check that anyone who attempts to bring a semblance of sanity and common sense would be termed a dictator. |

I sympatize with the PDP, they are only saying what they are expected to say any way. But really, can we say APC has failed after less than a year of a four years tenure? To what extent are we now enjoying the promises made by the PDP in the last 15 years. Politicians are simply two face of the same coin. It's about time we go above all these petty! petty!! mudslinging and come together irrespective of party affiliation and forge a unified front at tackling our numerous challenges. The victory of the recent under 17 Golden Eaglet comes to mind; irrespective of where they all came from, they all had a target, and that was to win the cup, which they did and we ALL celebrated together irrespective of where we are from. The Political elites are the ones sowing all these seed of discord. Poverty knows no bound, whether from The West, North, East or South; let us wise up, please. |

phemmyutd:Another IGNORANT zombie spotted. Let me help in your redemption, shall I ![]() barcanista:The FRCN’s report on Sanusi The decision to suspend the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Sanusi Lamido was based on a report of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria dated June 7, 2013. The report was made after a review of Sanusi’s response to the query issued to him by the President over the apex bank’s financial statement of 2012. His response was dated May 20, 2013. According to a copy of the report obtained by our correspondent on Thursday, the council indicates that the explanation provided by the suspended CBN governor is “a clear display of incompetence, nonchalance, fraud, wastefulness, and abuse of due process and deliberate efforts to misrepresent facts on the part of the leadership of the CBN.” The council advised the President to exercise the powers conferred on him by Section 11(2)(f) of the CBN Act 2007 or invoke Section 11(2)(c) of the said Act “and cause the governor and the deputy governors to cease from holding office in the CBN.” The report read: The particulars of the infractions against Sanusi are: Persistent refusal and/or negligence to comply with the Public Procurement Act in the procurement practices of the Central Bank of Nigeria. (A) By virtue of Section 15 (1)(a) of the Public Procurement Act, the provisions of the Act are expected to comply to ‘all procurement of goods, works and services carried out by the Federal Government of Nigeria and all procurement entities.’ This definition clearly includes the Central Bank of Nigeria. (B) It is however regrettable that the Central Bank of Nigeria, under his leadership, has refused and/or neglected to comply with the provisions of the Public Procurement Act (PPA). You will recall that one of the primary reasons for the enactment of the PPA was the need to promote transparency, competitiveness, cost of effectiveness and professionalism in the public sector procurement system. With epic records of corruption set by the PDP even if the Military had taken over I would be very happy, Nigeria is like an over pampered spoilt brat, and for a spoilt brat to Change we need 1) Prayer, 2) Strong discipline , which is found in our able PMB, |

Also in his remarks, Governor Mimiko of Ondo State who spoke for present and former PDP governors, urged President Buhari to be fair to all Nigerians, irrespective of party affiliation by conducting free and fair elections in Bayelsa and Kogi states as well as release the bailout funds for Kogi State. Even the so called ondo state governor can talk about election, ask him what happened to all the local government during is tenure instead of using elected people he decided to use the so called dictatorship by imposing caretaker chairman on us for good 7 years.... God is watching you oooo..... |

simplyOJ:I could not have said it better, God bless u my brother. While APC may not be a perfect party PDP should be ashamed of herself. These foolish old men who had contributed in no small measure to the failing economy are talking about non implementation of campaign promises for a party that is less than 1 year old in govt. How many campaign promises did PDP implement while the party held sway for 16 years? |
