A CALL ON ALL NIGERIANS TO BOYCOTT FACEBOOK
In view of the rising dissent against Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook by Nigerians who are justifiably displeased with the decision of Facebook Management to show special attention and sympathy to France by asking its users to change their profile pictures and replace them with the flag of the French Republic as a mark of solidarity with France over the killing of about 129 on Friday night in Paris by terrorists.
Given our discontent that Facebook has NEVER showed similar concern to Nigeria despite all the killings and attacks carried out by Boko Haram, I am calling on all Nigerians to boycott Facebook for just 24 hours.
This will send a strong message to Facebook and the rest of the world that Nigerians are not only good at talking. Let us take our protest to another level by staying away from Facebook for a day.
I hereby propose Tuesday 17th November, 2015 for the protest. All those wishing to be part of this protest should not directly or indirectly access their Facebook account between the hours of 12 midnight on Monday 16th November, 2015 to 12am on Wednesday 18th November, 2015.
I also propose the hashtag: #BoycottFacebookOnTuesday
Thank you. #ShareOn
