docadams:Really annoying. Next minute these same youths who are only interested in frivolous and petty news and gossip will say they are marginalised and excluded from leadership. Nigerian youths need to step up their game. If you want to have the money to attend Davido concerts then equally pay attention to the politics that determine your access to jobs, adequate transport, healthcare et al that will ensure there is a healthy balance between work and play. Nigerian youths need to understand that it is still their civic duty to hold leaders accountable and play a self-determining part in the shaping of their own destiny. I would hope this sort of topic is put on the front page because I know political leaders view and even use Nairaland. We then move on the the next problem which is the reality of how Nairalanders, majority who are Nigerian youths by age, may simply not be interested in this topic as they are about who Tonto Dike's new boyfriend is. |

Gbawe:My brother, I just can't but pity the person who wears the crown in this country at the moment. The greatest challenge facing us as a nation, I think, is the deranged psyche of the populace. Wahala de o!! |

Gbawe:Not quite @ bolded. You may find that the most endowed country in the world is Congo. And they have never known peace. There is a clearly link between abundance of natural resources/endowmants and chaos. But I agree with you completely. |

Great discourse from all contributors. It irks me when simple things are made difficult in Nigeria. I think one of the areas where this government should focus on is minning of the mineral resources needed for national growth. Massive exploration of bitumen can speed up the road transformation of the length and breadth of Nigeria. It will also lead to massive employment. Most of the agitation bedevilling the country are usually triggered by perceived marginalization in terms of infrastructural development. |

pcicero:correct. I think Nigeria, under the new Ministers, and with Buhari supporting them, will be a massive construction site shortly. I really believe that Buhari chose well in Kachikwu, Fashola, Amaechi, Fayemi and Ogbeh. My worry remains corruption and its ability to "fight back" (Ribadu). The article below shows what Buhari and his 'good guys' are facing and why Nigeria should pray for them. I don't want to taint this lovely thread with politics but the revelation below is disturbing and worrying. http://saharareporters.com/2015/11/16/how-saraki-national-assembly-leaders-secretly-opposed-treasury-single-account How Saraki, National Assembly Leaders Secretly Opposed Treasury Single Account |

Gbawe:Wow... this SR article is a very powerful expose! No wonder Dino Melaye specifically raised this issue about TSA probe and even though the facts have been tabled and the commision payments suspended, Saraki still insists on a probe of a ghost N25billion (even though it has been clarified severally that it wasnt 25bn). May God help Buhari and the microscopic few within the APC who genuinely want to deliver CHANGE to Nigerians. |

I've always wondered why we always shy away from having roads with pedestrian sidewalks, covered drainages and possibly a lane for bicycles. is it that the cost implication is astronomical or we just don't plan for the future. Truthfully, with the way we go about building things in this country, we'll never be like the US and Europe. All we're going to have is a quasi-ghetto azz urbanized cities all over without proper planning. |

Rawani:Will it be done on federal roads or what? I think it would have been easier for him to make it statewide. |
