I think he's nearly fit but Barca wants to keep the news of his full recovery conceal so Madrid would plan without Messi only for him to be unleashed on the on match day.

The thing is; the risk is not worth it. The match is too high profile for him to start with. Not because he won't cope, but because the risk is far greater.

No one wants a relapse. If that happens, which i hope doesn't, then our season is practically over.

I still stand on this; I'd rather lose than risk Messi facing a relapse.

When the greatest footballer ever is so determined to play, who can stop him? Not even the president!
Messi has been doing all he could to be fit, he even trained with the B team when he was supposed to be relaxing. I believe he has a mandate set for himself to achieve. If he says he's ready to play and declared fit by the medics, so be it.
But, personally, if fit, I would prefer he starts from the bench. His image alone is enough to terrify the pepes and Varanes. While his dead leg is better than Sandro and Muniru combined.

I partially agree with you only that you sound like you don't care as long as Messi feels he is fit without considering the aftermath of an injury... angry

The first part of my last paragraph says "personally, if fit, I would prefer he starts from the bench"
The emphasis is on 'fit' and 'bench'

I think it's less about being fit and more about the level of the opponent we are facing in relation to having a relapse.

I would love to have the G.O.A.T play at The Bernabeu as usual and be the catalyst to every move we make. But let's take personal love aside for the D10S and think straight. The match is too high-profile to start with after missing 2 months of football.

It is just too risky knowing we have animals like Pepe and Ramos on the other side. If we were facing a lesser team, no one would bother much about him playing. But the calibre of the match means it's touch and go to use Messi.

Plus, he seems not up to speed with his shooting. Unless if they would instruct him like they did Iniesta in Rome final not to shoot. But, how would you have the G.O.A.T and not have him shoot?

Irrespective of his desire to play, I would still not play him. Left for Messi alone, he always wants to play. Tito's season comes to mind here. And guess what? We payed dearly for it.

Agreed 100%
It's left to the coach to know how to sweet talk the G.O.A.T to calm down and relax on the bench. Ney to the rescue!

Especially Pepe...that guy might just do something stuupid to him.

Messi should just keep calm, with Messi fully fit with us we would be unstoppable,We are leading the table with three points so what's the need of him playing against Madrid?...afterall na still for May league go end...it's a Marathon, not a Sprint.

True that..But we are in a good position right now...and I don't see Madrid beating us...it's not worth the risk of Messi getting a relapse.
