There r advantages n disadvantages to everything in dis life. Firstly, lets look at d advantages. . It'll favour students dah pass . It'l reduce jamb's yearly income n extortion. . There will be no business 4 fraudsters for 2yrs. . Parents will b favoured as it will save dem some cash. Now lets take a look at d disadvantages.. . If u fail,no admission 4 u 4 d next 3yrs. . Not reading 4 lyk a yr can make u dull not 2 talk of 3yrs . Not all students will be able 2 afford d price of d form which means he/she will av 2 wait 4 d next 3yrs. . After schools must av picked candidates according 2 good grades,d ones with bad grades will b left out. Do u now expect dem 2 offer those dah dey ones denied admission cos of their low grades admission in d next 2yrs? . Some might even go extreme by committing suicide if he/she misses dah yr's result cos he knws he'll av 2 wait 4 another 2yrs n age is not on his side. . Pressure 4rm family members n peers can also lead 2 d point stated above. So lets think abt d positive n negative effects it'll av on our students. |

Kudos to that amiable senator for sponsor this great bill about jamb. They should also stop catchment area for admission are we not one nation, ist unfair someone have 250 as aggregate and someone who is having 186 will gain admission, because 250 is not from catchment area and that jamb result will waste for that year. It's a good idea. Nigeria student are in support of your bill. |

adeyemi91:Did you read the report at all? Where was it stated that Jamb will only organise their exam once in 3years? Nothing of such. The regular yearly Jamb exam will still be on uninterrupted but the fact is, if a student writes the exam this year and is able to make the cut off point, because of one reason or the other, he/she is unable to start school this very year, he/she can still make use of the said result in the 2yrs after which the result will no longer be valid. It is a very good move and should be supported by all lovers of good things. |

they should also eliminate the idea of undergraduate and graduate spend extra year in school. if a student fails a course, he doesn't necessarily need to rewrite the course since its a failed grade except if the student opined to do the course again. it's waste of time and resources. |

Nonsense is it jamb that is the problem or is it not the capacity of the Nigerian universities to admit students that should be addressed. Blind senators. Exiting the thread |

Well, it's a good policy but I'm strongly of the opinion that two years is just perfect! A candidate who fails to gain admission after two attempts should retake JAMB! Almost every higher institution require a maximum of two sittings in SSCE and it won't be odd replicating that in the validity of UTME...I just wanna make common sense! ![]() |

Then some universities would start making requirements like "Your JAMB result must not be older than 1 year" . Jamb is still in business however they extend it's validity. |
| Re: Senate Asks JAMB To Extend Validity Of Results To 3 Years by mcpat(m): 12:10pm On Nov 18, 2015 |
IMO extending UTME validity to three years would only make admission into federal universities harder. -n the sense that the number of prospective students who failed to gain admission with a jamb score of over 200 from the previous year would be merged with fresh UTME takers and people who couldn't take the test the previous year. Thus increasing the number of applicants and reducing the probability of gaining admission. |
