President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, has urged standing committees in the upper chamber to be innovative in their oversight functions and ensure delivery of seamless service

He also charged the committees to observe ethical standard in the discharge of their duties, and warned that any committee member found wanting would be sanctioned.

Saraki gave the charge on Wednesday while inaugurating seven standing committees of the senate, including the Committee on Appropriation.
He urged the committees to ‘’hit the ground running’’ in view of the need to reposition the economy, assuring that the chamber would support the committees, especially in area of funding.

“We are also assuring government institutions of readiness to work with them in order to deliver the dividend of democracy to Nigerians,’’ he said.
Saraki announced that the Committee on Legislative Agenda had the responsibility of monitoring the performance of the committees.

“INEC Committee should ensure that the gains of democracy are not eroded; they must ensure that there is improvement in our elections.
“For the Finance Committee, Nigerians are expecting us to lead the fight against financial recklessness and block leakages, he stated.

He added that Committee on Security should ensure that security agents were adequately catered for to ensure that the mistakes of the past were not repeated.
Saraki assured that the senate would not relent in its effort to ensure that Nigerians enjoyed the dividends of democracy.

The committees and their chairmen are: Appropriation, Danjuma Goje (APC-Gombe); Finance, John Enoh (PDP-Rivers); Banking, Insurance and other Financial Institutions, Rafiu Ibrahim (APC-Kwara); Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Abubakar Kyari (APC-Borno).

Others are Public Accounts, Andy Uba (PDP-Anambra); National Security and Intelligence, Sha’aba Lafiagi (APC-Kwara), and Communications, Gilbert Nnaji (PDP-Enugu). (NAN)

I have been away on vacation, and honestly thought before i came back, the needful would have been done. Oga Buhari, what is happening?where is Omenka?come brief me with what has been happening politically.

Where are those men that promised to take Saraki's name, to T. B Joshua for prayers?and that he will be removed soon?what is happening at the Senate?

The crook found respite in some compromised judge that ordered a stay of proceedings at the CCT pending the outcome of some suit filled by Saraki challenging the jurisdiction of the CCT (if my memory serves me well.) The judge is due for retirement in a few weeks!!!

Lamorde is on the run, feigning ill health and the need for treatment abroad, like the rest of the crooks.

Dasuki's butt's been lit on fire and dude's now singing like a canary.

Metuh is still Wailing as usual.

Alison has gone completely bald.

APC is waxing stronger as usual.

All that aside, this board has been turned into a playground of sorts for some ignorant deadbeats that call themselves IPOD. They wake up everyday with only one objective in their mind- spam the board with their trash and make intelligent discourse near impossible.

The South Southerners have warned them to shove their trash up their brown eyes but they still seen determined in their land grabbing quest. They've turned Truckpusher and his bro Barca to their favourite punching bags.

A lot other thangs that deserve some mention but I gotta run now- representing my boss at a board meeting.
