President Muhammadu Buhari will depart Abuja on Sunday for Tehran where he will participate in the third Gas Exporting Countries’ Forum opening in the Iranian capital on Monday. According to a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, the President and the leaders of Iran, Russia, Qatar, the Netherlands, Venezuela, Oman, Algeria, the United Arab Emirates, Bolivia and other member-countries of the GECF are expected to review the current market outlook on gas. Adesina said the leaders would also discuss strategies for boosting gas production during their meeting in Tehran. He said Nigeria and other GECF members currently account for 42 percent of global gas production, 70 percent of global gas reserves, 40 percent of pipeline transmission of gas and 65 percent of the global trade in Liquefied Natural Gas. The presidential spokesman added that Buhari who was scheduled to hold bilateral talks with other participating Heads of State and Government on the sidelines of the GECF summit, would also meet with Nigerians resident in Iran. He said, “The President will be accompanied on the trip by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama; the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola; the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Mr. Ibe Kachikwu and the National Security Adviser, Maj.-Gen. Babagana Monguno (rtd.). “He is due back in Abuja on Tuesday, November 24, 2015.” http://punchng.com/buhari-leaves-abuja-for-iran-on-sunday/ 6 Likes 3 Shares |

And the journey continue......jonny the voyager Any man whose house is on fire but decides to chase rats can be best described as foolish man Ofcourse! He was prepared for War not leadership. He never imagined GEJ will handover power, just as no northern Muslim can agree to lose an election not to talk of ensuring a smooth transition. They will continue to blame GEJ and make excuses while looting and stealing of public funds will go unabated. He has already gotten what he went there for which is petroleum minister, unknown to him is that the niger deltans/IPOB are not as lenient and permissive as before, you can't come and reap from where you did not sow, dat's madness. Keep on sailing...confused, lanky and hollow-looking sailor with rheumatic legs 135 Likes 14 Shares |

Ok, I am very much pro APC and somewhat pro PMB but I do not believe the president should travel to any country for now until things (security especially) improve significantly! I really don't care what the reason for traveling is I just believe he should stay put at this time. if he needs to travel he should visit more states within the country. 52 Likes 4 Shares |
